Ovation Systems, the leading global developer of high performance video surveillance solutions has announced the immediate availability of FourSight-DVI, a new HD video quad display monitoring system. Designed for fixed and portable installations, it enables up to four PAL or NTSC cameras to be viewed on a single high resolution LCD display with outstanding clarity. Available at around 50% of the cost of traditional multiview systems, FourSight-DVI provides a cost effective and easy to deploy solution for organizations operating in a broad range of market sectors including security, audio visual and oil exploration. According to David Millar, Sales and Marketing Director of Ovation Systems: “FourSight-DVI provides organizations using legacy standard definition cameras with a cost effective, high quality video monitoring solution for a fraction of the price of traditional multiview systems without having to upgrade to new equipment. We expect there to be significant interest from customers around the globe which will help to consolidate our reputation for developing innovative video surveillance solutions that deliver high levels of performance and a rapid return on investment.” FourSight-DVI has four BNC input connectors which allow standard definition legacy cameras to be connected to HD monitors without the loss of quality that is experienced by users of traditional video quads which must reduce the resolution of each input to show more than one camera per screen. This is achieved by processing the standard definition feeds together into a single high-resolution DVI (or HDMI) output and mapping pixels on a one-for-one basis to an HD screen with real-time updates for each channel. In the default mode, FourSight-DVI shows all four video inputs as a quad allowing all the cameras to be simultaneously monitored. If required, users can switch to a full screen view for each camera. A further four modes can be quickly selected to display different combinations of the camera feeds on the output screen. Ovation Systems’ new monitoring solution autosenses PAL or NTSC video inputs for easy configuration and deployment. It also automatically configures itself for operation with most high-resolution monitors and supports resolutions from 1024 x 768 pixels to 1920 x 1080. FourSight-DVI is DC powered and can be specified as a free-standing unit or PCB for integration into third party OEM solutions. It is equipped with an RS232 port enabling users to take full control of the cameras or change display modes remotely. The standalone unit is compact, measuring just 160 x 90 x 25 mm, and is housed in a robust anodised aluminum casing.
