Daniel Gelston

Daniel Gelston joined Smiths Detection Inc. in March 2016 as President of the subsidiary and Vice President of the Americas Region. Previously he was President of Tactical Communications and Surveillance NA for Cobham and served as Chairman of the SSA Board. Preceding Cobham, Dan held roles at Sotera Defense Solutions and BAE Systems. His CBRNE career highlights include serving as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Officer on the DMZ, working for the Defense Intelligence Agency's CBRNE Counterterrorism Division, serving as the Iraq Survey Group’s contractor Program Manager, and running 100+ personnel programs at DoD's Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency. Dan has a Bachelor's degree in Economics and International Strategic Policy from Bucknell University and a Master's degree in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University.
