Vismo has announced Vismo AI, developed to enhance the protection of users’ at-risk employees anywhere in the world while streamlining security processes end-to-end. Demonstrated at GSX 2026 (14 – 16th September, Atlanta) Vismo AI allows security operations to ask “draw me a geo-fence, "and" show me where my people are"- and much more – and give advice to employees faster than ever via the Vismo Locate & Protect App on their phone or other device. Data processing and management “Vismo AI answers are grounded in users organizations’ own data, live intelligence risk feeds and app users themselves. For added security, it doesn’t take answers from the open web,” says Vismo CEO Tom Cowling. A live map interface overlays real-time employee GNSS location updates, global threat/incident feeds and active weather alerts onto a centralized screen, allowing users – typically an organization’s security team - to immediately see if an employee is close to a developing real-world threat. “Asking questions of Vismo AI and giving it instructions saves keying-in time and leads to rapid end-to-end information and data processing and management,” Cowling adds. “The result is enhanced protection of at-risk employees, from giving advice on how to stay safe during an incident to providing updates about evacuation to a place of safety.” Single message thread Vismo AI can carry out all necessary actions, including geo-fencing and mass or personal notifications, in a single message thread. “That’s a real step up in employee safety,” Cowling adds, “Thanks to security operations receiving incident alerts with Vismo AI giving named providers, severity levels and timestamps, and indications of accuracy.” Every interaction with Vismo AI is saved and named, allowing details of an incident to be quickly picked up again - days later if necessary. Lower-severity items Answers can give the last known address or location of a specific employee, the time of that “fix”, the level of its accuracy and the battery strength of the employee’s phone or other device. A manager can instruct Vismo AI to “take me there”, or “show me where my people are” on a map, with a pin highlighting their known, or last known, location. Answers to any question can be rebuilt by asking for a shorter list of, for example, lower-severity items only. And Vismo AI can give unprompted information, for example about a nearby Vismo advisory to app users or any employee on 5% battery. Data processing and management “Managers can ask what is happening in a country or region and in reply get active incidents grouped by risk level, with each item’s location, expected duration and what it means for employee safety and travel arrangements,” says Cowling. “That gives a detailed overview and saves a lot of time.” For example, a manager can ask “List all my level 5 alerts in the gulf right now.” Location and personnel data is never used by Vismo to train the underlying model of Vismo. Vismo AI is covered by the same certified information security management standard - ISO 27001 - as the rest of the Vismo platform.
Vismo has been appointed a commercial partner of GISF – the Global Interagency Security Forum for aid worker safety - and will demonstrate its personal security apps at GISF’s Global Security Risk and Policy Conference 2026, London, May 26-28th. The theme of the conference is ‘Collective Strength Against Emerging Threats.’ Founded in 2006, GISF is a network connecting NGOs, UN agencies and donors to improve security risk management (SRM) of aid workers including duty of care, secure access to them, and other enhancements to their safety in complex operating environments. Complex operating environments As a partner, Vismo will work with GISF members to help improve the safety of aid organizations’ employees, volunteers and contract workers through its smartphone apps and assistance via satellite devices, with a focus on at-risk areas and while they are traveling. Says Vismo CEO Tom Cowling, “NGOs operate in an environment of escalating and increasingly complex security risks. They include targeted violence, kidnapping, arbitrary detention, disinformation and threats from emerging technologies such as drones - alongside tighter budgets and reduced enabling support.” Security risk management “We are therefore delighted to join GISF’s partner program and help GISF to support greater transparency and collaboration across the entire security risk management field for aid workers, while also providing direct assistance via our technology.” Cowling continues, “NGOs don’t manage security risks in isolation. Effective security risk management depends on a wider ecosystem of specialist services, from insurance, legal advice, and medical evacuation to risk analysis, training and crisis support. Many NGOs navigate all this alone and under time, human resource and financial pressures. The result is limited transparency, increased costs and greater difficulty in accessing appropriate support. That’s where we come in with invaluable help and innovation.” Event management company At the conference, and as a tier-one critical event management company, Vismo will demonstrate its Locate & Protect and Monitor apps, which between them give users enhanced protection 24/7, and their employers the ability to monitor the wellbeing of users and rapidly communicate with them if necessary. Vismo’s platform goes beyond its locate and protect functions, also providing active monitoring, mass communication to users in critical situations – and integration with workflow software. The apps utilize intelligence streams and precise tracking data to mitigate risks by alerting users in real time to emerging and expected critical events, and to any events as they suddenly happen. User are advised via multiple communication channels on how to stay safe or be safer, and given details of any evacuation procedures that are being put in place to bring them to safety if necessary.
