HID Global's Dr. Tam Hulusi has been selected to speak under the World e-ID track

 HID Global, the trusted leader in providing solutions for the delivery of secure identity, recently announced that Dr. Tam Hulusi, senior vice president, Strategic Innovation and Intellectual Property at HID, will speak on the importance of creating a trust-based framework for using identity information in access control systems.

Held from 23rd to 25th September at Sophia Antipolis Technology Park in the French Riviera, SmartEvent 2009 is an annual innovation forum for knowledge exchange among industry leaders, academics and government officials in the areas of mobility and trusted technologies and services.

With a doctorate in physics, Harvard Business School training, numerous patents and a long-standing career in technology, Dr Hulusi offers a unique perspective in addressing both the business and technological issues in the delivery of secure identity and the application of trust-based identity in physical and logical access control. Dr. Hulusi's SmartEvent 2009 presentation, entitled "Knock, Knock. Who's There?", will include:

  • The role of trust in modern transactional systems and the need for strong authentication in bounded systems, such as access control.
  • The construction of simple, trusted ‘building-blocks' for trusted access systems.
  • Outlining a Trusted Identity framework using publicly available and widely used standards.
