About 40 SRG3900s feature IP67 ingress protection to withstand extremely harsh conditions
The Swedish Lifeboat Institute will use Sepura's STP800 hand-portable radios and 120 SRG3900 mobile radios

The Swedish Lifeboat Institute (Sjöräddningssällskapet) has decided to join the nationwide RAKEL TETRA network and will be utilizing a range of Sepura terminals to help safeguard the seas around the Swedish coast.  The deal was achieved by Swedish Radio Supply AB (SRSAB), Sepura's long-standing partner in Sweden.

Sjöräddningssällskapet is an entirely voluntary organization, which operates 64 stations across Sweden and takes on responsibility for many maritime rescue operations.  It realised that, in order to continue to carry out its role effectively, it needed to be able to communicate with all the other organizations involved in a particular incident.  As RAKEL is the nationwide TETRA network that is used by a large number of public safety organizations in Sweden, it made sense to become part of the network.  After a thorough evaluation of the available radios, Sjöräddningssällskapet chose Sepura terminals supplied by SRSAB.  As a result, they are taking delivery of 230 of Sepura's high-specification STP800 hand-portable radios, in addition to 120 SRG3900 mobile radios, which will be installed on rescue boats.  Of the SRG3900s, approximately 40 feature IP67 ingress protection, in order to enable them to withstand the extremely harsh conditions that Sjöräddningssällskapet personnel can face.

Commenting on the deal, Andreas Arvidsson, the senior manager at Sjöräddningssällskapet responsible for the project, said "We chose SRSAB because they understand our requirements and can deliver a total package that includes not only terminals and their programming, but also project management and interactive training.

Uno Zell, the SRSAB Account Manager added "Sjöräddningssällskapet was already a customer, but it shows their confidence in SRSAB that they stayed with us and our solutions".  His comments were echoed by Lars-Magnus Gustafsson, Business Development Manager for Scandinavia at Sepura.  He said "This shows that SRSAB have excellent customer-focussed solutions.  Sepura terminals already account for the majority of the radios on the RAKEL network and we are pleased to be working with such an important organization as Sjöräddningssällskapet."
