Fire prevention is an important safety precaution that can save lives. It is not for nothing that the use of smoke detectors in private homes has become a legal requirement in thirteen of Germany's sixteen federal states. With the ABUS RWM300 model, the security specialist ABUS combines smoke and heat detection in one modern stand-alone device. The smoke/heat detector is suitable for all rooms, even the kitchen. Another benefit: the integrated battery lasts 12 years and provides long-lasting safety.

The ABUS RWM300 smoke/heat detector, which is manufactured in Germany and Q-Kriwan -certified, is ideal for use in bedrooms, children's rooms and hallways. Its bi-sensor processor helps combine optical smoke detection with precise analyses of temperature changes, which is why the device is also suitable for use in kitchens, as often kitchen fires are the number one type of fire in the home. Both values are constantly monitored and evaluated by an ABUS-developed software algorithm. The alarm is triggered when the prescribed particle concentration in the air is exceeded or the room temperature exceeds 55°C for three seconds. Even smouldering fires which are difficult to detect are identified and signalled significantly earlier. The device has a monitoring radius of up to 40 square metres within a room.

One unique feature for a smoke detector: the removable insect catch. It consists of two parts and can be easily removed and replaced. This is primarily useful for regular cleaning, which is prescribed as a maintenance measure in DIN 14676.

The entire surface of the device serves as a test key and therefore provides an easy test and stop function. It makes it easier for old age pensioners, for example, to operate the device with a broomstick or walking stick. The easy handling even extends to the mounting of the device: instead of classic drill installation, the ABUS RWM300 can easily be mounted to the ceiling using a magnetic gel pad. In combination with this clever mounting technique, the system continues to meet the demanding test criteria for successful Q-certification.
