Fulcrum Biometrics is offering the IriShield as either a complete USB desktop system or as an embedded module for use in portable devices
The agreement will allow Fulcrum Biometric to sell IriTech’s line of IriShield iris recognition scanners

Fulcrum Biometrics, a leading international provider, distributor and integrator of biometric systems and devices, recently signed a reseller agreement with IriTech, Inc that will allow Fulcrum Biometrics to sell the company’s line of IriShield™ iris recognition scanners. IriShield is an ultra-compact, low-cost, high quality ISO-compliant iris scanner system that makes implementation of biometric iris recognition technology both simple and affordable for use in a wide variety of applications such as access control, time and attendance, point-of-sale, voter registration, population census and mobile banking systems.

With a low volume price point beginning at US$190, Fulcrum Biometrics is now offering the IriShield as either a complete USB desktop system or as an embedded module for use in portable devices like tablets and smart phones and other larger hardware systems such as entry gates. Both IriShield systems include an auto-capture camera module, built-in iris recognition technology and an available PKI-based security infrastructure that ensures complete data security. Furthermore, IriShield runs on Android, Linux and Windows operating systems and supports both remote and on-board ISO-compliant compressed image generation and identification.

The iris recognition algorithms used in the IriShield modules were top ranked both in accuracy and interoperability by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) IREX test.

“We are always looking for ways to further the reach of our iris technologies in the marketplace,” said Dr. Daehoon Kim, president and CEO of IriTech, Inc. “Fulcrum Biometrics is a great partner for us because of their professionalism, their strong reputation in the biometrics market and their worldwide fulfillment capabilities.”

“We are pleased to engage in this partnership with IriTech and offer the IriShield iris scanners in our online catalogue,” said Ken Nosker, president of Fulcrum Biometrics. “To many, iris recognition seems like a futuristic technology that is only available to the largest corporations and governments, but that is no longer the case. With its combination of low cost, compact size and high quality iris biometrics, the IriShield product line will enable rapid adoption of iris recognition technology for both civil and commercial applications around the world.”
