Avigilon announced the appointment of Drew Deatherage as the company's business development director, responsible for expanding awareness for Avigilon's award winning high definition (HD) surveillance solutions within the security consultant community. A seasoned security technology consultant, Deatherage has managed security installations at hundreds of sites including Dallas Love Field airport, Southwest Airlines General Utility Building, and the Academic Village at Cal Fullerton, California.

In his role as business development director, Deatherage will develop educational programs and act as a specification and design resource for the security consultant community to aid in the design of HD surveillance systems, hybrid systems, and the migration of analog systems to digital video surveillance.

"Avigilon's HD surveillance platform has been selected for major surveillance projects at colleges/universities, stadiums and arenas, airports, ports, and other infrastructure projects," said Dave Tynan, vice president of global sales and marketing at Avigilon. "With his vast industry experience and security technology expertise, Drew will play an influential role in guiding the consultant community through the successful installation of these high profile projects."

Deatherage is a security technology and IT systems design and project management professional with over 18 years of experience in systems planning, design, project management, and commissioning in the aviation, healthcare, gaming, and educational markets. Deatherage also possesses detailed knowledge of aviation industry standards for physical security, IT, and fire and life safety codes.

"Over the past 18 years, I have witnessed first-hand the evolution towards HD surveillance and the subsequent need for experienced security consultants and project managers to effectively guide end-users through the selection, installation, and maintenance of these new systems," said Drew Deatherage. "I look forward to working with the dynamic team at Avigilon and supporting the consultant community to ensure the successful deployment of Avigilon solutions around the world."
