ASSA ABLOY Access Control has upgraded its innovative Aperio technology to offer a premium escutcheon to secure fire and escape routes.

Aperio is designed to upgrade mechanically locked doors and wirelessly connect them to existing online access control systems, with minimal modification to doors and premises, offering a cost effective and simple security upgrade.

The new Premium Aperio escutcheon complies with latest industry standards, including EN1906 / 03, making it suitable for use in fire doors and emergency exits in all applications, including public sector buildings, where products must be specified in accordance with DIN or EN standards.

Says Russell Wagstaff of ASSA ABLOY Access Control: “In a difficult market, it is even more important to develop products which offer security installers the opportunity to work across the private and public sector, which involves compliance to the highest level of building regulations and standards.”

“ASSA ABLOY Access Control is constantly evolving its product portfolio to fulfill these requirements, and the launch of the Premium Aperio  escutcheon is just one example, to ensure we can consistently deliver to meet stringent security standards, and requirements across all sectors.”

In addition to meeting the latest standards, the new premium range still has the same great features that you would expect from the original award winning Aperio technology, including an ability to operate indoor and outdoor to temperatures within an extensive range of -25oC to 60oC.

Aperio is also available in a euro profile system to accommodate different door thicknesses to enable it to be integrated into almost any existing access control system.

Russell concluded: “With Aperio we are demonstrating that necessary security upgrades in any sector can be achieved cost effectively, and with minimal disruption to daily operations, which is great news for our security installers and ultimately the end user.”
