ACTi's SED-2100R and Milestone's XProtect Software successfully help Puopolo Smallgoods, the meat processing factory, to convert their surveillance system from analog to IP.

Puopolo Smallgoods is a meat-processing factory in Victoria, Australia.  The main purposes for Puopolo Smallgoods to initially setup the analog surveillance system were to record the production process, prevent the accidents, and to strengthen the security.

However, as time goes by, Puopolo Smallgoods has now expanded with the addition of a new building.  Alloys International and Unity Computers, assisted Puopolo Smallgoods to add more Megapixel IP Cameras in their new building.  In addition, through the installation of ACTi SED-2100R, Puopolo Smallgoods can mix the existing 13 analog cameras with new 8 IP Cameras in the new building via 1GB Cat6 link.  The existing analog system can also be easily integrated into the complete IP Surveillance Solution.

In terms of management, which is the significant issue in IP Surveillance Solution, Milestone's XProtect software plays an important role in this project.  Due to Milestone's scalability and impressive performance, the customer now has full access to cameras in old manufacturing building and new manufacturing building from any PC on the network; therefore employees can have different levels of access through the entire complex via their PC's.

Implementing IP Surveillance Solution, the customer has the scope to add more IP cameras throughout the complex as required.

"ACTi's MPEG4 Video Server full D1 at 25 FPS with lower bandwidth helps us to convert analog surveillance system to IP surveillance system. Most importantly, ACTi products' decent frame rate and video quality are very impressive," said by Michael Capuano, Business Development Manager at Unity Computers.
