American Dynamics, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco, has introduced the Illustra Compact IP Mini-Domes, the most recent additions to its expanding line of high-definition IP cameras. Designed for applications where discretion is of the utmost importance, these cameras are ideal for retail stores, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, schools and banks. The high-performance, compact camera delivers 720p and 1080p resolutions for crystal clear images.

The compact size and discreet appearance readily blend into the background of any application. By incorporating a robust feature-set, the Illustra Compact Mini-Domes have the features that users are looking for without the obtrusive housing. Features include motion detection, low-light performance with Soft Day/Night and DSS, digital wide dynamic range, 2D noise reduction, and an easy positioning 3-axis gimbal. Although this camera is small in stature, it’s extremely tough. The highly protective housing is IK10-rated, and can withstand severe impacts from anyone trying to disengage the camera.

Ideal for surveillance of wide areas, the 1080p resolution model provides a 123° wide horizontal viewing angle. With detailed resolution of 15 pixels per degree, this model captures a crisp, clear image of an entire scene, even the perimeter.

“The Illustra Compact Mini-Domes offer affordable, high-performance IP video that fit easily into new and existing surveillance applications,” said Cheryl Shea, product manager for American Dynamics IP cameras. “The discreet design is a perfect solution for companies who want cutting-edge IP video performance from a camera that preserves the integrity of its surroundings.”

The Illustra Compact Mini-Domes support the complete feature set of the ONVIF 2.3 profile S specification for IP cameras, which allows for a high level of integration of recording platforms that comply with this specification. ONVIF 2.3 profile S aids end users and system designers in determining interoperable components of a physical security solution.

An easy and fast installation is the hallmark of the Illustra camera line. The Illustra Compact Mini-Domes are supported by the latest version of the Illustra Connect camera configuration software. Using the Illustra Connect batch setup feature for IP address assignment makes the setup of multiple cameras automatic, saving valuable time. And, to further save time, the Compact Mini-Domes lenses are factory-focused so there is no need for additional focusing.

American Dynamics supplies a superior end-to-end solution with Illustra IP cameras and the VideoEdge video management system.
