Mirasys is set to record revenues approaching eight million Euros in 2008
Mirasys, the Helsinki headquartered provider of open platform digital CCTV and video surveillance solutions, is now third in its core EMEA marketplace according to a comprehensive research report published by IMS Research. Meanwhile, Mirasys will complete the third and final instalment of a three million Euro investment agreed in early 2007 with CapMan, one of the leading asset managers in the Baltic countries and Russia. Mirasys is set to record revenues approaching eight million Euros in 2008, with software sales doubling.

Jukka Riivari, chief executive officer of Mirasys, said: "Mirasys has made pleasing progress during 2008. Our focus is clearer, which means our offer is better understood in the marketplace. The continued support of CapMan, one of the leading investment groups in the region, means we are in a good position to develop further and to take advantage of the expected industry consolidation. 2008 has been a turbulent year for the world, but the need to keep the world we live in as secure as possible has not diminished."

Alastair Hayfield market analyst at IMS Research said: "In its 2008 study on the EMEA Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance, IMS Research positioned Mirasys 6th in the market for open-platform network video management software in EMEA. IMS Research conducted further analysis on those companies who only sell video management software and not complete solutions. In this category IMS Research ranked Mirasys 3rd in EMEA and 5th in the same category worldwide."

Petri Niemi, head of technology investments at CapMan added: "Mirasys has grown by 30% since our initial investment in 2007. The economic conditions will not be kind to many companies, but the market leaders will emerge stronger. Mirasys has a clarity of vision and a growing quality of reputation which will ensure it emerges well positioned to strengthen its position as a market leader."

Earlier in 2008 Mirasys announced the availability of its next generation of NVR (Network Video Recorder) software only digital surveillance solutions. Mirasys NVR Enterprise is a multiple server and channel solution aimed at medium and large companies that can support up to 5000 IP cameras and which can be managed as a single, distributed surveillance system. Both NVR Pro and NVR Enterprise are available through Mirasys distributors worldwide.
