With high quality Made in Germany, enormous flexibility makes the MOBOTIX video systems interesting for numerous industries during the pandemic and beyond. Artificial intelligence and deep learning Artificial intelligence and deep learning processes are drivers of the MOBOTIX7 video solution platform. The many special video analysis apps provide users in all industries with intelligent and cost-effective tools to cover relevant and current requirements, specifically in their everyday work. Solutions that do not yet exist can be redesigned to suit individual requirements. Thus, the platform is explicitly open for self-developed apps from MOBOTIX partners and customers -which means that new solutions are constantly being created to meet even the most innovative requirements. Helpful technology In the Corona pandemic context, MOBOTIX video systems provided effective hardware and software applications with its back-on-track solutions, which help keep life in business, trade, healthcare, and education as normal as possible. For example, anomalies in body temperature can be detected so that the persons concerned can undergo medical examinations. The thermal solutions are already being used, for example, by hospital visitors or hotel guests. The intelligent systems can also detect the wearing of mouth and nose protection. In retail stores or ski resorts, automatic announcements can be triggered if the MOBOTIX camera detects people without masks. Overcrowding situations can also be detected, and social distancing can be supported. Flexible systems retaining value MOBOTIX offers video systems with valuable benefits even beyond the pandemic through simple conversions While many of the technology solutions used to combat COVID-19 are used exclusively on a case-by-case basis, MOBOTIX offers video systems that offer valuable benefits even beyond the pandemic -through simple conversions. For example, reliable, object-based recording of customer flows and the most frequented areas on the sales floor can provide retailers with important information on customer behavior or product placement (detection of hotspots). Pre-installed apps The 22 apps already installed in the video systems serve the requirements of numerous key sectors such as industry & manufacturing, energy & utilities, retail and healthcare, education, transport and mobility, and the public sector. With the MOBOTIX CLOUD, MOBOTIX launches a new cyber-secure cloud video management system that is available via a flexible software subscription. The MOBOTIX VSaaS offering (Video Surveillance as a Service) enables complete video management of local cameras via App. The data is stored in stable cyber secure cloud data centers in regional proximity to the cloud users. "The market launch of the MOBOTIX CLOUD is another important step for us as a complete solution provider for security-relevant video management systems for our customers. Together with our technology partners, we plan, develop, install and support high-end video solutions. In this way, we optimize our customers' business and make it more secure without requiring them to invest additional technical, time or personnel resources", explains MOBOTIX CEO Thomas Lausten. Intelligent bandwidth management The MOBOTIX CLOUD solution includes, in addition to the MOBOTIX Bridge hardware component, all services available in a conventional VMS: event-controlled video recording, archiving, live remote access to each camera, notifications, user administration, Internet security and much more. MOBOTIX CLOUD is available with a monthly subscription model, thus saving on own storage devices, additional video servers and IT personnel for the video system. Each camera communicates with a securely encrypted outgoing connection with the MOBOTIX Bridge” "Each camera communicates with a securely encrypted outgoing connection with the MOBOTIX Bridge, a compact high-security connection box. A single bridge can be connected to up to 15 ONVIF-S network cameras. With several bridges per site, the number of connected cameras can be expanded as needed," explains Hartmut Sprave, CTO of MOBOTIX AG. The bridge streams the video data to the MOBOTIX CLOUD, enables intelligent bandwidth management and, thanks to the integrated hard disk, also local buffering of the video in case of bandwidth fluctuations. In addition, network failures of up to 48 hours can be bridged. All video recordings are secure and stored per camera for a freely definable archiving period and resolution in private MOBOTIX data centers. Data encryption for data storage The top priority for MOBOTIX was to provide cyber secure connections to regionally available MOBOTIX CLOUD data centers for its own cloud solution. Secure end-to-end encryption protects all data stored and transferred in the system. And the integrated hard disk in the MOBOTIX Bridge serves as a storage buffer in case of interrupted or poor connections to the cloud. The MOBOTIX CLOUD video management system combines comprehensive security with a scalable infrastructure. It is suitable for video systems of all sizes. The cloud solution is ideal and easy to manage, especially for projects with a large number of different locations (e.g. retail stores, franchises, restaurants) and users (e.g. security personnel in public buildings or different departments in larger companies with several branch offices). Even for private users, the cloud provides easy access to the use of a video security system. The MOBOTIX CLOUD combines the use of high-quality MOBOTIX cameras with extremely simple and convenient operation. The user interface of the CLOUD is limited to the essentials for efficient everyday use, making it easy even for users without IT or MOBOTIX knowledge to enter and move into the cloud world. Malware protection for videos The MOBOTIX CLOUD solution meets the basic requirements of one's own products with regard to the highest possible cyber security standards. In this way, the MOBOTIX CLOUD reduces potential weaknesses: There are no open ports, no local firewalls and no local software. Furthermore, no firewall installation is required and no incoming Internet connections are allowed. The cameras are not directly connected to the Internet; instead, the MOBOTIX Bridge is connected in between. When a video is stored in the cloud, it is safe from equipment failure, damage, and theft The MOBOTIX CLOUD Datacenter is malware protected without any open network connections and all recorded videos are encrypted. When a video is stored in the cloud, it is safe from equipment failure, damage, and theft. But it's also safe from other unforeseen events such as fire or water damage. The MOBOTIX CLOUD data centers, which are currently located at twelve sites around the world and offer multi-layered redundancy. The MOBOTIX Bridge acts as failsafe recorder allowing the cameras to continue recording for up to 48 hours even during a network outage. Compatibility with MOBOTIX cameras The MOBOTIX CLOUD requires only one H.264 stream from a video source, and is therefore compatible with all current MOBOTIX camera models of the Mx6 series, the MOBOTIX 7 series and the MOBOTIX MOVE models. Both digital and mechanical PTZ functions can be controlled via the MOBOTIX CLOUD as well as hemispheric cameras. Existing third-party cameras with ONVIF-S profile can also be used in the MOBOTIX CLOUD. End customers save money with the MOBOTIX CLOUD. There is no need to buy and maintain software, storage devices or additional servers. One can pay a small initial amount, and then decide on the basis of a flexible subscription plan where one only has to pay for what one needs. Regular updates of the MOBOTIX CLOUD software ensures that the system is always up-to-date.

MOBOTIX has taken another step towards making its technology available and integrating it in partner systems. After extensive development processes and testing, all MOBOTIX IoT camera solutions have been integrated in Genetec’s cloud-based Stratocast video management system. Genetec, global provider of video management systems solutions, has been one of MOBOTIX’s most important technology partners for many years. Integration with MOBOTIX IoT camera solutions The integration of our camera systems in Stratocast, whose high level of cyber security is put to the test in annual stress tests" “The integration of our camera systems in Stratocast, whose high level of cyber security is put to the test in annual stress tests and evaluations, is another milestone in the long-term cooperative relationship between MOBOTIX and Genetec,” says Hartmut Sprave, CTO of MOBOTIX AG. “When we make our technology available and integrate it into other solutions, it is paramount to us that we do not compromise on the cyber security of our systems,” Thomas Dieregsweiler, Head of Product Management at MOBOTIX AG, adds. “Genetec and MOBOTIX speak the same language: We are one of the world’s first camera manufacturers to successfully integrate in Stratocast,” Dieregsweiler further points out. Stratocast cloud-based video management system The cloud-based video management system Stratocast (VSaaS) is designed especially for small and medium-sized businesses. When using Stratocast, customers can always rest assured that their company is protected and that seamless operation is ensured. Using a PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, Stratocast guarantees access to live videos and video recordings that are stored cyber-safe in the cloud. Many customers across the world rely on the cloud solution, which is tailored to small applications under 50 cameras, or in other words, small and medium-sized companies. The end customer themselves requires only basic computer expertise, as no computer infrastructure such as additional servers have to be installed on site and no maintenance or updates are required. This makes the solutions affordable and very transparent for the customer. They only pay by usage. Genetec and MOBOTIX technologies synergy Stratocast allows the customer to circumvent typical server-based problems such as additional IT infrastructure or employees, lack of storage space, loss of records, and unscalable prices or functionalities. The scope of functions provided can also be extended by using the Genetec Security Center for central monitoring. This means the cloud-based network can grow and develop according to the customer’s needs. As is the case for MOBOTIX, cyber security and data protection are the highest priority at Genetec. For example, all communication between the on-site system and the cloud is fully encrypted with TLS (Transport Layer Security). Genetec guarantees 99.5 percent availability (availability and access to video). Data back up and cyber security Camera solutions from MOBOTIX have an excellent reputation around the world for good reason All data is backed up three-fold in the cloud. Genetec works exclusively with hardware and software partners who meet the high quality standards for cyber security and data protection. He adds, “The excellent quality of our video solutions combined with a keen focus on cyber security and our global sales network is how we became one of the first camera manufacturers to integrate our technology in the cloud-based Stratocast video surveillance system from globally renowned video management solutions firm, Genetec. It proves once again that the decentralized intelligence of our camera systems makes MOBOTIX one of the most important players on the global market.”
Intercoax and MOBOTIX have entered into a strategic partnership. This will enable customers of both companies to take advantage of the comprehensive performance of MOBOTIX IP cameras and solutions in combination with the high-performance Intercoax transmission products, even if data transmission takes place via existing copper infrastructures or conventionally structured cable topology. The strategic partnership was confirmed at the MOBOTIX Innovation Summit in Langmeil, Germany at the beginning of April. Prior to this, the two companies had already begun to integrate the respective partner technology and the advantages of Long Range Ethernet into their own products and solutions. Both companies are working on large-scale projects based on the migration from analog to IP over coaxial cables and on new IP camera projects with transmission distances that go far beyond the conventionally structured cable topology. “Many customers are looking for faster and less complex solutions to migrate older copper systems to IP,” says Vincent Matthys, CEO, Intercoax EMEA, adding, “With Intercoax products, existing copper infrastructures can easily be upgraded to IP without the need to install new cabling. This reduces both customer costs and end-user disruption to an absolute minimum.” strategic collaboration Intercoax solutions do not alter the on-site infrastructure and can be deployed much more quickly“Our partner Intercoax is a perfect match as their technology enables us to integrate our products and solutions with customers whose network infrastructures and cable topology are not designed to accommodate these. Intercoax allows us to avoid expensive rewiring and to install a future-proof IP video surveillance system using the existing network infrastructure,” explains Hartmut Sprave, CTO of MOBOTIX AG. The main gain for the installers of MOBOTIX products and solutions or system integrators is that they can now offer end users a significantly cheaper solution compared to conventional transmission topologies such as fiber optics and structured cable. Intercoax solutions do not alter the on-site infrastructure and can be deployed much more quickly than other topologies. “We are very pleased to have formed this strategic collaboration with MOBOTIX, the highly experienced and leading IP camera manufacturer. Our proven Intercoax transmission technology helps installers easily migrate analog systems to IP over existing coax or UTP cable infrastructures. Even when installing wide-range networks, Intercoax solutions represent a much more cost-effective and time-saving solution compared to conventional fiber optic topologies. Moreover, the technology is noninvasive and delivers a cost reduction (TCO) of up to 60%,” emphasizes Vincent Matthys.

MOBOTIX’s already very successful global partner program is being expanded with the Partner Society, which offers numerous advantages for MOBOTIX, all partner companies and, above all, MOBOTIX customers worldwide: “Our products and solutions very often result in individual solutions for customers that can also be of great interest to other companies, thanks to the expertise and competence of our partners. By means of the Partner Society, we offer a platform through which our partners can distribute these innovations worldwide,” says Hartmut Sprave, CTO of MOBOTIX AG. Premium camera technology Two Partner Society programs – Technology Partners and Solution Partners – have been created thus far. Technology Partners are innovative manufacturers of complementary products who have integrated MOBOTIX in their own products. MOBOTIX supports the market and cooperates exclusively with organizations that are in their field By cooperating with technology partners, MOBOTIX supports the market and cooperates exclusively with organizations that are in their field. Quality standards that offer the best solutions together with MOBOTIX premium camera technology are therefore put in place. Solution Partners are existing MOBOTIX Channel Partners who have already developed their own intelligent application solutions based on MOBOTIX technology. Cyber secure solutions Demand for individual solutions is incredibly high. To this end, each Solution Partner has developed special solutions with enormous added value. MOBOTIX offers these companies marketing across the world via the new platform. “The Partner Society is another important step for MOBOTIX in its transformation process from a premium product manufacturer to a full-service provider of cyber secure solutions based on our strong German DNA,” explains CEO Lausten. After the initial successes of the MOBOTIX Partner Society on various markets, he is very confident that this new form of cooperation will be a groundbreaking success story.
By joining forces with Nelysis, MOBOTIX has, for the first time, entered into a partnership with a company that is one of the world’s leading providers of cybersecurity solutions. Nelysis solutions protect customers’ network infrastructures and systems to ensure physical security and protect control systems. For instance, the ‘Vanguard’ complete solution from Nelysis minimizes customers’ risks of external and internal hacker attacks as well as operational downtimes. “It was very important to us to have a leading cybersecurity expert in our partner network,” explains Hartmut Sprave, CTO of MOBOTIX AG. “In keeping with our realignment as a complete solution provider that works closely together with global partners to develop cyber-secure, decentralized and energy-efficient systems, including for new, vertical markets, it’s important for us to work with a partner whose core competence is ensuring the cybersecurity of network infrastructures and systems,” says Sprave. Meeting the demand for cybersecurity solutions This can guarantee comprehensive cyber- and network security for our shared customers around the world"Enrico Dani, CEO of Nelysis Europe, affirms: “As a MOBOTIX Technology Partner, we can support MOBOTIX in continuing to expand the use and functionalities of MOBOTIX systems to meet the growing demand for specific cybersecurity solutions. We’re convinced that our technological expertise represents added value for the unique MOBOTIX technology, and that this can guarantee comprehensive cyber- and network security for our shared customers around the world.” The market for network infrastructures and the applications installed on them is becoming increasingly complex. More and more frequently, proprietary solutions are being replaced by technology partnerships in our increasingly networked world. This calls for working together with partners from adjacent technology sectors to fulfill the intertwined requirements and challenges of the future that customers face in terms of ensuring cyber-secure network and IT solutions. Integrating technologies to benefit customers The two companies are reviewing how they can optimally integrate one another’s features to benefit their customers“MOBOTIX is taking the exactly right approach as far as this is concerned,” says the Nelysis Europe CEO. “There will be a shift in mentality along the entire value-added chain – from employees, to suppliers, through to distributors and customers. MOBOTIX is pursuing an excellent path here, and we’re looking forward to going this route with MOBOTIX,” says Enrico Dani. At the moment, MOBOTIX and Nelysis are working on integrating one another’s technologies. The two companies are reviewing how they can optimally integrate one another’s features to the benefit of their customers. “We decided to partner with MOBOTIX because the company has been focusing on cybersecurity since many years. It makes perfect sense for us to work together with a company that considers IT security to be their core competency,” emphasizes Dani. “Nelysis and MOBOTIX are working together so that they can soon provide their shared customers with outstanding, cyber-secure solutions,” says Sprave.
Konica Minolta has confirmed to expand the common development projects focusing the new video/IoT platform with MOBOTIX to min. € 3 million during the financial year 2018/19. “MOBOTIX is a strategic partner for Konica Minolta and we have seen very good progress with the common development during the past year why it will be further expanded to develop innovative video technology even faster” says Yuji Ichimura, senior executive officer of Konica Minolta. Increased focus on cyber security “The further development of software projects with Konica Minolta is of key strategic importance for MOBOTIX and we are very pleased to see this development being increased significantly” says CTO, Hartmut Sprave. “We have already explored several synergies by the technology cooperation which drives faster innovation being critical as a global player. We are proud to see this being supported significantly by Konica Minolta.”
MOBOTIX is expanding its management team to include two new members. Following a successful restructuring, MOBOTIX is paving the way for sustainable growth with its new members, both experienced industry experts: Christiane Kampling will now serve as Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications and Hartmut Sprave as Chief Technical Officer. Both started with the company on June 1st, 2018. Christiane Kampling is taking over as Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at MOBOTIX. She has held similar positions over the past few years at Covestro, Xchanging Continental Europe, and ING Investment Management. Kampling was also able to gather valuable insights as Marketing Director at Dell. In these positions, Kampling, who holds a degree in business, was responsible for business opportunities and implementing entire marketing strategies (B2B and B2C). She was also in charge of developing new go-to-market models for SMEs and end users as well as building business opportunities through strategic partnerships and cooperations. In addition, Kampling managed the media, PR, and advertising agencies as well as events and roadshows. Digital Video Technology Expert As member of the Management Board and new Chief Technical Officer of the Technology Department, Hartmut Sprave is responsible for hardware, software, product management, quality management and strategic innovation at MOBOTIX. Sprave, who holds a degree in physics, previously served as Vice President Software at Loewe Technologies GmbH, where he was responsible for software development at numerous sites in Germany and abroad. As co-founder and CTO of MacroSystem Digital Video GmbH, he gained extensive experience in the area of digital video technology. “Christiane Kampling and Hartmut Sprave are both highly qualified experts, and we are pleased to welcome them to the MOBOTIX team,” says Thomas Lausten, Chief Executive Officer at MOBOTIX. “With our strong new Management Team, we are perfectly prepared for any upcoming challenge.”
Change is happening at MOBOTIX, and the German company wants to get the word out. “This company has been around since 1999, and people still give us a blank stare because they don’t understand what’s behind the curtain,” says Joe Byron, Vice President Sales Americas, MOBOTIX CORP. “As we gain visibility, people really want to know ‘what’s going on over there?’” There’s a lot going on. A new CEO, Thomas Lausten, who joined the company last year, is a former Milestone employee who brings with him the Milestone philosophy of open systems. It’s a culture shift for MOBOTIX, which has historically favored closed systems. “We needed a new leader to take us to the next level,” says Byron. “Thomas brings an open-platform mentality. He listens to a variety of opinions – from end users, architects and engineers, and MOBOTIX employees – before formulating a smart decision. That will take us to the next level.”MOBOTIX has been well ahead of the industry’s technology curve, and several early innovations have recently become more common The MOBOTIX Ecosystem Over the years, MOBOTIX has developed a unique “culture” that has many rabid devotees; some say it’s the security industry’s version of tech giant Apple. “MOBOTIX has many loyalists, who are enthused about the products and the culture,” says Byron. “We can build on that with a new level of products, more excitement and a new direction.” In addition to a new CEO, MOBOTIX will soon have a new chief technology officer (CTO), Hartmut Sprave, who will be joining this summer. Providing “fresh eyes on the subject” and an outside perspective from the IT industry will drive further innovation. “We don’t want to be on the bleeding edge, but on the cutting edge, and know the audience and its needs and challenges,” says Byron. MOBOTIX’ existing technology mix provides a foundation as the company makes the transition. In some cases, MOBOTIX has been well ahead of the industry’s technology curve, and several early innovations have recently become more common. An example is MOBOTIX’ decentralized system approach with edge-based recording. Tradeshow Successes Products highlighted by MOBOTIX at the recent ISC West show included the M16 AllroundDual Multisensor IP camera, S16 DualFlex IP camera and the Q26 Hemispheric 360-degree panoramic IP camera for indoor and outdoor applications. MOBOTIX Management Center (MxMC) 1.8 can change the camera settings on 80 cameras at a time. MOBOTIX IP Video Door Stations can interface with iOS and Android smartphone apps. “We have had so many things in place over so many years that people haven’t known about,” says Byron. He argues that MOBOTIX’ emphasis on technology development sets it apart from some camera companies in the U.S. market. Joe Byron, Vice President of Sales, and Ashley Grabowski, Regional Marketing Manager, at ISC West 2018 “People have been let down in the U.S. market with cameras that have been over-marketed, over-reaching and have little substance,” he says. The German engineering of MOBOTIX products and systems provides an antidote to the technology void, he says. “They are looking for the substance, and that’s what we have,” says Byron. What was missing – until now – was the “layer of integration” with other systems in the market, contends Byron. That separated MOBOTIX from the rest of the industry.MOBOTIX offers cybersecurity features that pre-dated the current industry obsession, such as HTTPS/SSL encryption in recording and playback video “But now we are an open platform, and we have these features sets and are the best of both worlds,” he says. “We can align with technology products and bring MOBOTIX to the masses. It’s a matter of listening to customer challenges and formulating a path to meet those challenges.” The fruits of that open system approach were on display at ISC West. The MOBOTIX booth featured integrations with ClearSite, Omnicast by Genetec, Konica Minolta and Mx-MSP by APB Technology. Other MOBOTIX technology partners include Avigilon, Bosch, Exacq, Gallagher, IndigoVision, Lenel, Milestone, Pelco by Schneider Electric, Salient Systems, Verint and Video Insight (Panasonic). Targeting Local Markets Another change under the new leadership is more flexibility to address the needs of local markets. “We need to be aware of our audience in the Americas,” says Byron, “and how approaching the market and the product mix may be different. We have the ability to create what we need here to be successful.” One particular concern in the Americas market is cybersecurity, and MOBOTIX offers cybersecurity features that pre-dated the current industry obsession, such as HTTPS/SSL encryption in recording and playback video. “We already have it, but we have never broadcast it to the masses,” says Byron. “We have the substance but haven’t communicated it.” Looking to enter the government market, for example, MOBOTIX faces the important requirement to be “IA compliant.” The company qualifies as IA (information assurance) compliant but just needs to go through the process of getting the “rubber stamp.” “We have so much under the hood when it comes to our products,” says Byron. He says MOBOTIX’ Internet of Things (IoT) approach can meet any end user challenges. “We can be all things to all people, if they truly get to know us. We just need to develop a vehicle to allow customers to communicate with us: What is the challenge? Nine times out of 10 we can meet that challenge with one of our cameras.”
The MOBOTIX AG Supervisory Board appointed Hartmut Sprave as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and reappointed Klaus Kiener as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for another three years. Hartmut Sprave succeeds Dr. Oliver Gabel, who had resigned in November, and his experience includes many years in software and hardware development. He is expected to take up his role by 1 September 2018 at the latest. In 1991, he co-founded MacroSystem Digital Video GmbH and had served there as CTO for 18 years, having earned a degree in Physics. The company is active in development of digital video editing solutions. He currently serves as Vice President Software at Loewe Technologies GmbH and is responsible for software development at numerous sites in Germany and abroad. Hartmut Sprave will be responsible for hardware, software, product management, quality management and strategic innovation at MOBOTIX AG.Klaus Kiener was a major contributor in developing and implementing the Fit for the Future restructuring program Restructuring Program Klaus Kiener has held the position of CFO at MOBOTIX AG since April 2016. His reappointment means that he will continue to be responsible for finance, controlling, organization, IT services, purchasing, logistics and production until 31 March 2021. He was a major contributor in developing and implementing the Fit for the Future restructuring program, together with Thomas Lausten, who was appointed as member of the Management Board in June 2017. The restructuring program includes all investments made to strengthen the IT infrastructure (implementing an ERP/CRM system), measures to strengthen product development, marketing activities and an increased focus of the sales structure on growth markets, as well as a streamlined, more efficient structure for work processes and the overall operational organization. It is being implemented as planned and the turnaround is expected to take place in the current financial year already. The MOBOTIX AG Management Board now has three members: Thomas Lausten, Klaus Kiener and Hartmut Sprave.
