Pioneer wireless fire safety solutions provider Ramtech has established its first international base, opening a new U.S. office in Charlotte, North Carolina. The move reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering modern fire and safety across the construction industry and establishing a full U.S. supply chain. By establishing a permanent presence on the Atlantic coast, Ramtech, which is headquartered in Nottingham, will enhance efficiency, mobilization and reliable delivery of safety solutions for contractors nationwide through the provision of direct access to equipment, training and support. National service coverage James Pecz, head of North America, Middle East and Global CX at Ramtech, said: “We are proud to establish a permanent presence in the U.S., marking an important milestone in Ramtech’s global growth.” “This launch demonstrates our commitment not only to partners and clients across the U.S., but also reinforces the strength of our business model, proven in the UK, and its ability to scale internationally. Our Charlotte office brings us closer to delivering safety solutions efficiently and reliably, supported by a full U.S. supply chain and national service coverage.” Supporting major construction firms Ramtech has been operating in the U.S. for seven years, supporting major construction firms including Turner, PCL and Barton Malow, as well as the maritime defense sector. Its WES system, successfully deployed on high-profile UK projects such as the Everton FC Hill Dickinson Stadium and Thames Tideway, has also protected more than 350 workers on major international projects, including Hudson Detroit ($1B) and Gaylord Pacific Resort. The company partners with over a dozen U.S. distributors, including Space Age Electronics. State-specific partners While the majority of Ramtech’s U.S. experience and recognition has been in the North and South East regions, it is keen to expand this reach across the South and Midwest. Charlotte will be an anchor for the firm, while it looks to cover new ground with its regional and state-specific partners. The day involved product innovations presented by product marketing manager Jiayao Wang.

Global wireless solutions provider - Ramtech has accelerated its growth in the US market with the appointment of several key team members, boosting its business capability across the continent.  New appointments Joining the team is marine and federal specialist - Morgan Davis, who brings specialist system integration and programming skills to the firm, alongside Business Development Manager - Luis Suarez. Construction Safety Joe Beecher adds, "From our discussions with customers, we’re finding attitudes gradually shifting across the US. Traditional methods of fire protection, such as air horns, are no longer sufficient to alert construction workers to the hidden dangers on site, and technology can be omnipresent, protecting these environments when workers are less likely to be around, such as overnight or at weekends." He continues, "Construction safety is too often a secondary measure, but any fire accident or incident can have huge ramifications on human lives as well as project infrastructure." Bi-lingual colleagues Joe Beecher further states, "Guided by these encouraging signs of safety education, it is a really exciting period of development for everyone at Ramtech North America – we’ve onboarded bi-lingual colleagues, allowing us to potentially expand across Latin and South America, and we're working on some huge projects with some of the biggest names in construction." He adds, "We’re looking forward to continuing our expansion across the year and beyond."  Key personnel Other key personnel to have joined the Ramtech team in the past year include 35-year construction veteran - Joel Pickering, sales engineers - Rae Kee and Andrew Medina, and Jiayao Wang, operating in product marketing.  Joel, in particular, brings strategic regulatory knowledge to the Ramtech team, being an active member of the NFPA 241 committee and previously chairing an ANSI A-1026 subcommittee on ‘Emergency Procedures for Construction and Demolition Sites’.  NFPA 241 Standard Combined with its work on-site, it's these kinds of guiding principles that are driving forward the business The NFPA 241 standard – the national measuring standard for preventing or minimizing fire damage to structures – was previously explored by Ramtech as part of an in-depth industry whitepaper, ‘No Site Left Behind’, which measured the state of fire safety knowledge across the US.  Combined with its work on-site, it's these kinds of guiding principles that are driving forward the Nottingham-headquartered business worldwide, according to the Head of Global Business Development, James Pecz.  Protecting construction environments James Pecz said, "Ramtech has been protecting construction environments for more than 30 years, and it's incredible to see the business transition from its beginnings in the Midlands, to a firm that holds strategic partnerships in Europe, the US, and even the Middle East." In June, Ramtech revealed its role in working with contractor - Barton Malow to protect more than 350 workers on-site at Hudson’s Detroit, a $1 billion megaproject in downtown Detroit.  

Supporting site safety ahead of the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, global wireless solutions provider Ramtech has announced its innovative WES3 system has been selected for three key construction projects. Working closely with its regional partner, EUROFEU, Ramtech has supplied its EN54-25 compliant WES3 wireless fire and evacuation system for the Olympic and Paralympic Village, the Adidas Arena, and the Aquatics Center, delivering enhanced worker safety during temporary construction phases. Benefits of the System Additional use of the system is the multiple lingo options the control panel can be set to, including French WES3 manual call points, with medical alert features, have been installed across the projects, with the three venues encompassing a combined 331,000 sqm. In the event of an evacuation, an alarm will sound to alert all workers, prioritizing their well-being as well as helping to prevent potential disasters. An additional benefit of the system is the multiple language options the control panel can be set to, including French. This is one of the most prominent projects we have been part of since working in the French market, and it is a proud moment to be able to support the safety and 24/7 monitoring of such an iconic event in the heart of the capital.” Importance for the Paris community The Adidas Arena complex offers more than just a sporting venue, with a real living space of over 3,000 m2 The Olympics and Paralympic Village is scheduled to open on Thursday 18 July and will accommodate more than 14,000 athletes and entourage members participating in the Olympic Games, as well as another 8,000 athletes and entourage members for the Paralympic Games. Meanwhile, the Adidas Arena complex offers more than just a sporting venue, with a real living space of over 3,000 m2. It will host various activities, including catering, sports events, pop-up stores, and more, accessible to everyone throughout the year, giving this project a high level of importance for the Paris community. The Aquatics Center will also host water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming competitions, before being transformed into a boccia stadium for the Paralympics.
