Keepit Surpasses $100M ARR With AI Data Strategy

Keepit, the SaaS data protection expert, announces it has surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) as its AI Truth Cloud strategy, which reframes data protection as the trusted foundation AI-enabled enterprises run on, rather than simply insurance against loss, is driving customer adoption at scale. Since growth equity investor One Peak's initial investment in September 2020, the company has grown more than 13 times —a greater than 55% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) — serving organizations of every size, from single-seat small businesses to global enterprises, across its independent, vendor-neutral cloud infrastructure. Vendor-neutral cloud infrastructure "Reaching $100 million in ARR validates what we've always believed: that organizations everywhere need data protection that doesn't depend on the same hyperscalers that host their data," said Morten Felsvang, Keepit co-founder and CEO. "We've built this company to grow without sacrificing the things that matter: independence, sovereignty, immutable storage, and the trust of our customers. As our AI strategy fully comes to life, that momentum will continue." The $100 million milestone arrives as Keepit accelerates the AI Truth Cloud, giving enterprises a verified, independent source of truth for the data their AI systems depend on: "Backup used to answer one question: Can we get the data back?" said Frederik Schouboe, Keepit co-founder and chief visionary officer. "AI is making companies ask something bigger: Can we trust the data our business is running on? This means data protection is no longer a cost of doing business, but rather the foundation of doing business you can trust." Primary SaaS providers That distinction is consequential. AI systems are probabilistic, not deterministic, and when an AI agent acts on enterprise data and writes something back, subsequent agents inherit whatever the first one changed. The integrity of underlying data is a business risk, not a technical footnote. Because Keepit stores data in an independent, vendor-neutral cloud and keeps the backups immutable, verifiable, and fully separated from primary SaaS providers, organizations have a record of what their data is, when it arrived, which version it represents, and whether it has been altered. And because that data is granularly restorable at any point in time, organizations can act on that record: rolling back to a known-good state, recovering a single item or an entire environment, without depending on the original SaaS provider to do it. The same infrastructure that helps mitigate the effects of ransomware and accidental loss now gives enterprises a source of truth they can run AI on with confidence. Independent data centers Unlike backup solutions that store customer data on Microsoft, Google, or Amazon infrastructure, Keepit operates on independent data centers and an independent, vendor-neutral cloud. Customers retain access to their data even if they lose access to their primary SaaS provider — a capability that has become more critical as organizations deepen their SaaS footprints. That structural independence also addresses data sovereignty requirements that are increasingly material to enterprises in regulated industries and across jurisdictions with conflicting data residency rules. Keepit protects, manages and orchestrates data from SaaS applications across industries and geographies, spanning Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, and other widely adopted platforms, delivered through a global network of resellers, managed service providers (MSPs), and aggregators. With 700 employees, offices across Europe and the Americas, and data centers operating across seven regions worldwide, Keepit serves organizations of every size — including Luminus, Porsche Holding Salzburg, Carlsberg, HDI, KU Leuven, Oxford University Innovation, Saxo Bank, freenet, and Emmi — on a single platform built for both breadth and durability.

Enterprise AI Trust With Keepit's AI Truth Cloud

Keepit, a SaaS data protection provider, announces AI Truth Cloud, the next evolution of its platform, transforming backup from a compliance requirement into the most trusted, strategically valuable data asset an organization can hold. As AI agents take on business-critical decisions, AI Truth Cloud positions Keepit as the sovereign source of truth that enterprise AI can safely build on: data that is verifiable, governed, immutable, and proven. Keepit holds something AI vendors cannot replicate: a complete, sovereign, immutable, and tamper-proof copy of an organization’s data - every version, across the protected application - stored in a vendor-independent cloud that no third party influences. That independence is the foundation of the “truth”: The AI Truth Cloud enables organizations to verify the authenticity, provenance, and integrity of data before it is ingested into any AI system, ensuring that the AI reasoning over their business is reasoning over data they can actually trust. Complete data foundation Enterprise data protection has evolved steadily from tape-based backup to disaster recovery and cyber resilience. With AI Truth Cloud, Keepit establishes the next step: from passive backup to a proactive trust fabric for verified, governed, and sovereign data. “Organizations are making high-stakes decisions based on what their AI tells them. But data that can’t be verified shouldn’t be acted on. AI Truth Cloud gives enterprises an independent, tamper-proof, and provably complete data foundation - one that AI can safely reason from, one that organizations can prove the integrity of and roll back to a known-good state from when a decision goes wrong. Verifying the truth before you act, and recovering it when you didn't. That is what it means to own the truth,” said Frederik Schouboe, Co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer at Keepit. Enterprise trust fabric The AI Truth Cloud platform is organized around five pillars: Protect; Observe; Recover; Prove; and Integrate. These replace the backup and recovery story with a complete framework for data trust. Three core capabilities form the immediate roadmap foundation: AI Connector Backup extends Keepit’s proven data protection to the AI tools enterprises already depend on - including agent configurations, AI skills, projects, and models - with point-in-time restore for any AI asset. That same immutable foundation becomes the verified recovery point when an AI agent behaves unexpectedly or is compromised. Keepit MCP (Model Context Protocol) platform is designed as a headless API layer that connects Keepit to any AI tool or workflow. It enables AI systems to query, audit, and interact with managed data programmatically. It positions Keepit not as a passive repository, but as an active node in the enterprise trust fabric. Keepit AI Safe Room addresses one of enterprise AI’s most pressing risks: running AI models directly on live production data. AI Safe Room provides an immutable Keepit copy of data as a pristine, isolated environment for AI training, inference, and testing, without putting production data at risk. If a model, prompt, or agent produces unintended results, it’s possible to do a full rollback: production remains untouched and recovery is immediate. Looking ahead, Keepit is developing additional capabilities across all five pillars - including AI agent behavioral monitoring, automated compliance evidence generation, cryptographic data provenance, and AI-powered threat rollback - each extending the platform’s role as the trusted data layer for enterprise AI. Building on a growing foundation AI Truth Cloud is not a change of direction for Keepit, it is the next frontier made possible by Keepit’s growing data foundation. Keepit will continue expanding connector coverage as organizations transition to AI-driven and agentic workflows, with protecting the data AI agents create and consume representing the next wave of protection needs. Alongside this, Keepit is introducing an ISV partnership strategy enabling software vendors to embed sovereignty, immutability, governance, and trusted AI capabilities directly into their own products through deep integrations with the Keepit platform - establishing Keepit as the underlying trust layer across the enterprise software ecosystem. For Keepit customers already running AI on a verified data foundation, that shift is not theoretical: “Knowing that our AI is working from a verified, immutable source changes the conversation from risk management to competitive advantage. Keepit has become a foundational part of how we think about data integrity for AI,” said Tom Hicks, Senior Manager, Identity, Quanta Services. Detailed capability announcements Keepit's channel partners are seeing the same demand from their own customers. "Our customers - especially in the public sector - are asking how they can use AI responsibly and demonstrate that to regulators. AI Truth Cloud changes that conversation from aspiration to practice. With an auditable, protected data layer built in, we can help organizations deploy AI at scale without compromising on governance or recoverability," said Jonny Scott, Head of Cyber Advisory, Phoenix More detailed capability announcements, roadmap milestones, and partner program updates will follow in subsequent releases.
