HID Global, the trusted leader in secure identity, today announced that Kathleen Carroll has been designated a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The certification demonstrates HID's commitment to taking a leading role in addressing privacy and related legislative issues.
In her role as HID Global's director, Government Relations, Carroll has contributed to the development and support of public policies that safeguard individual privacy while fostering the responsible use of identification technology. With the certification, she has demonstrated practical knowledge of definitions, concepts and applications of U.S. and international privacy laws and information management practices and the privacy implications of emerging technologies.

Carroll, who has also recently been elected to The Smart Card Alliance Identity Council steering committee, uses her background in developing communications strategy and materials to help HID solidify its position as the recognized leader in addressing smart card technology-related privacy concerns.
