Connexion2 supplies its range of Identicom products to end users and partners
Connexion2 will sponsor the new Lone Worker Protection Product Area at IFSEC International 2012

Lone worker specialist Connexion2, developer and manufacturer of the award-winning Identicom, the UK’s most widely-used dedicated lone worker device range, is celebrating a major milestone after shipping its 100,000 Identicom device.  Established in 2003, the company has gone from strength to strength, winning numerous awards and achieving a portfolio of Blue Chip companies and organizations in a wide range of market sectors, including public and private healthcare, social housing, utilities, facilities management, retail and transport and logistics.

Whilst predominantly used in the UK, Connexion2 has developed a number of key overseas partnerships around the world in countries including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand as well as nearer to home in Germany, Spain and France.  This has resulted in Connexion2 becoming a globally recognized leader in lone worker safety.

Connexion2’s Managing Director, Craig Swallow, said: “We’re delighted to be shipping our 100,000 Identicom device – it’s a real achievement and a testament to how many lone workers rely on the device for greater peace of mind when working alone. The fact it allows discreet use and is styled in a neat identity badge form continues to make it the device of choice for companies, associations and employees.”

Identicom looks like a standard identity badge holder but incorporates mobile phone (GSM) technology, which can be used to alert security staff at an Alarm Receiving Center, and allows them to pinpoint the worker’s location and capture valuable audio evidence.  The device includes an alarm that can be triggered discreetly by a user and a lanyard attachment that enables it to be worn easily but also includes a discreet ‘rip alarm’ function, which is triggered if the unit is forcibly removed from the wearer.

In May, Connexion2 is sponsoring the new Lone Worker Protection Product Area at IFSEC International 2012, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 14th to the 17th May.  Being the inaugural sponsor of this new area underlines the growing importance of protecting lone workers and the significance of this growing market sector, as well as Connexion2’s position as the UK’s leading supplier of lone worker protection.

Connexion2 supplies its range of Identicom products to end users and partners.  The innovative technology comes with variants including ‘Man Down’ detecting and GPS enabled devices to offer increased safety and the ability to integrate with the Mobile Workforce Management Platform (a secure online portal for lone worker managers to assist best practice, productivity and flexibility of resources).
