TRI-ED, the largest independent distributor of security systems and video products in North America, has finalized an agreement to distribute the Videofied indoor line of wireless video alarms. Video verification is one of the fastest growing segments in the burglar alarm business and Videofied is the leading manufacturer. Videofied monitored burglar alarms deliver the video clip of the intrusion directly to the central station for immediate review and dispatch – for faster police response. In contrast to the popular self-surveillance systems which only allow the owner to view the cameras. The new Videofied product line is designed especially for indoor commercial and residential applications and costs about the same as a traditional wireless alarm system. The new interactive “dealer branded” mobile app allows property owners to remotely access the cameras from their smartphone as well as arm and disarm the system.
The new indoor product line is based upon the wireless indoor MotionViewer. While the new MotionViewer is approximately the same price as a standard wireless PIR, it includes a full VGA color video camera. The size of a restaurant salt shaker — topping out at three inches high — the Videofied MotionViewer is a PIR motion detector and wireless camera (with illuminators) that runs on batteries. It is designed to fit with the “wireless alarm installation model” that has become the standard in small commercial and residential burglar alarms. The MotionViewer has no power cords and operates 4 years on two AA batteries.
