The Digital Door Viewer HD is one of the winners of the prestigious Plus X Award 2013, the world's biggest innovation prize for technology, sport and lifestyle. The digital door viewer was able to convince the jury in five categories. The compact unit was awarded in the categories of innovation, high-quality, design, convenience and functionality. The simple and ingenious principle: the Digital Door Viewer HD is quickly and easily attached to the classic door peephole and transmits the live stream onto the display.
The most important specification in developing the product was to increase the security standard in private households with a unit that is both easy to install and use. When the Digital Door Viewer HD is activated, the user receives a razor-sharp live picture of the entrance area. This is achieved by the 720p HD camera resolution and the 2.4 inch color display. The wide viewing angle of the display makes it easy for children and elderly people to clearly identify anyone standing at the door. What makes it special: as soon as the HD door viewer is activated, it shoots three single images that can be stored on an optional microSD memory card. This makes it far easier to identify who was at the door at a later point in time. Everything you need for retrofitting is included in the complete ABUS set – with optical peephole, batteries, bracket and mounting tool.

The top-class jury consists of members who are neutral in terms of industry, including prominent journalists in the trade and well known personalities in the industry.
