Located in the Walker Hill Hotel on the tranquil slopes of Acha mountain in Seoul, Walker Hill Casino features 3,000 square meters of gaming space, 200 slot machines, 150 gaming tables and specially designed VIP tables.
There were two key aspects of the new system installation at the planning stage of a digital security development in the casino, firstly optimized recording speed and quality and, secondly, watermarking.
To view recording at a minimum of 30 images per second, in real time and full screen, DVRs are required. All digital video disks produced from the DVR system should contain the data with the time and date it was recorded, the media player that has the software necessary to view the DVR images, as well as a video verification encryption code - also known as a watermarking.
Considering the casino's needs, Rifatron proposed a MPEG4 DVR with hexaplex operations. ‘Hexaplex' refers to the recorder's six simultaneous functionalities; live display, audio & video recording, playback archived footage, data back up, network monitoring, and remote set up of schedule and settings.
Recording is carried out by Rifatron's iMDVRS-1648 with MPEG4 algorithm and the recorded data is written to four hard disks per recorder. The standard hard disk stores minimum fifteen days of real time recording. All other recordings are retained a minimum of seven days, which is the standard of the Korea Casino Association (KCA).
Rifatron DVRs has a very effective HDD management method. If a hard disk breaks down, the DVR immediately abandons the disk and skips to next available disk in the system and continues recording data on the healthy disks. If there is any bad sector or bad disk found, the DVR displays the H/W (healthy, fault) and S/W status (active, online, off-line) on the list in the management page.
