Visimetrics Digital Video Recorders have formed part of the £15m refurbishment of the 55000 sq ft Casino at The Empire in London. Installed by London Clubs own Technical Security Department, the new surveillance system utilizes the Visimetrics FASTAR Real Time MPEG2 DVR for all gaming, reception and cash handling areas. Recording from the perimeter cameras is handled by the VADER High Speed Time Lapse DVR.
Both machines use the highly robust Linux operating system and offer 8 channels of Audio and Video Recording with up to 3Tb hard disk capacity, despite being only 1U in height. Image export when required can also include transfer of footage to Movie DVD, playable in any low cost DVD player.
Casino at The Empire is the third London Clubs site to use Visimetrics products, with FASTAR and VADER having previously been deployed at the Rendezvous Casino in London and the UK's flagship northern casino, Manchester 235. A similar system is also being installed at the soon to be opened London Clubs casino in Nottingham.
