Capture OmniScape took top honours in the Security Industry Association New Product Showcase (NPS) at the International Security Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, April 5-7, 2006. Eighteen judges, representing various segments of the industry, viewed a daylong series of presentations by manufacturers of the 94 NPS entries. SIA President Bill Gorski, Siemens Building Technologies, NPS Committee Chair Sandra Jones, Sandra Jones and Co., and SIA Executive Director Richard Chace presented the Innovation Award to Capture representatives John Serrecchia, Jonathan Harris and Mark McMillen.
Capture OmniScape, is a revolutionary 3.0 megapixel, ultra-wide video surveillance camera and digital storage device (DSD) that is distributed exclusively through Burtek/Richardson Electronics. This technology allows you to see what you've missed - behind the scenes. Through the camera's on-board processor, the 360-degree, super-panoramic image is unwrapped, enabling the user to simultaneously focus on multiple regions of a room from a single vantage point utilizing four independent virtual PTZ controls and no moving parts. When video is played back via the OmniScape DSD, the recording contains all the information from the original scene, making it possible to "go back" and virtually pan, tilt and zoom, as if viewing live images - all while continuing to record live.
