The Par-Sec asset and personnel tags employ Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to send motion, tamper and low-battery information to Par-Sec readers. The three RFID tags available with Par-Sec are the SAT Static Asset Tag, PAT Portable Asset Tag, and PET Personnel Tag. The SAT and PAT tags feature a tamper device that generates alarm conditions at the reader if attempts are made to remove them from an asset. The Personnel tags also function as a lightweight badge or photograph identification holder but it is not recommended that other proximity cards are used as their integral aerial decreases the range of the PET.
