NEXT fingerprint sensor drivers now available for Windows 8 and 10 NEXT Biometrics Group ASA recently announced that in a recent presentation discussing secure authentication initiatives of its Windows operating systems, Microsoft management recognized NEXT Biometrics as one of two world fingerprint sensor suppliers. NEXT Biometrics, CEO Comments Tore Etholm- Idsøe, CEO of NEXT Biometrics said, “Microsoft continues its strategic drive for higher quality levels of security and convenience in Windows. Through Windows, we are proud that NEXT Biometrics sensor drivers are now made available for world users of Windows 8 and 10. “We continue our strategic support of the Microsoft activities,” he added, “noting that NEXT is the market’s lowest-cost provider of low-profile, reliable, robust high-quality fingerprint sensors.” NEXT Meets Mass Market Requirements Ethold-Idsøe said, “As further supported by the recent Madrid Report (online at www.nextbiometrics.com/convenience/the_madrid_report), NEXT is uniquely able to meet the mass market requirements of security and convenience at price levels compatible with the Notebook and Tablet device world market. The study by the University Carlos III of Madrid, a highly-respected biometrics industry resource, proved fingerprint sensor accuracy is directly connected to the size of sensors used in smartphones, PCs and other devices.”

Expansion of the project is said to increase the volume estimate of the deal by 20% NEXT Biometrics Group ASA announced that after 3 months of integration work and preparation, its first Tier 1 Design-Win client company has decided to implement NEXT fingerprint sensors in two more of its product models. NEXT said that the expansion of the project increases the volume estimate of the deal by approximately 20% to what it previously quoted to be sensors numbering in 7 digits.   NEXT Biometrics CEO Tore Etholm-Idsoe commented, “The Tier 1 client order expansion is significant.  We see this as a clear confirmation that we are on track with our first Tier 1 client company and that they consider it a clear opportunity to differentiate positively in their product space by using NEXT fingerprint sensor technology."

Next Biometrics Group ASA announced that Authasas, the Dutch leader in strong authentication solutions for the enterprise market, has integrated the new NEXT Biometrics 3010-U single fingerprint scanner with its solutions. The development order involves consulting and initial fingerprint sensors for the client seeking small device application NEXT Biometrics Group ASA announced it has received an initial development order, valued at $100,000 USD, from a new client in its “NEXT-enabled market” sector. NEXT, the leader in high-performance low-cost fingerprint sensors based on its patented technology, did not disclose the client company or specific applications being developed. Tore Etholm-Idsøe, CEO of NEXT Biometrics, said, “The main part of the order is for consultancy as NEXT will support its client with high level expertise to develop an undisclosed application within a new field. NEXT is uniquely able to deliver credible, robust sized sensors at unprecedented low cost levels. By supporting our new customer we will be helping it create a new and exciting high volume market segment.”

The customers have placed orders for NEXT fingerprint sensors to be integrated in new mass market small product formats NEXT Biometrics Group ASA announced it has recently received a number of orders within a range of new high potential fingerprint sensor markets. During January, a total of 6 customers have placed orders for NEXT fingerprint sensors to be integrated in new mass market small product formats. The targeted products include payment-, home- and smartphone-related devices. NEXT Biometrics said that customers have ordered SDK’s (Software Development Kit) and fingerprint sensor samples as part of their product development process. They all have requirements for large, high-performance fingerprint sensors and all target launch between the second half of 2015 or the first half of 2016 (H2-15 or H1-16).
