Exar Corporation, a leading supplier of analog mixed-signal products serving the industrial, high-end consumer and infrastructure markets, announces the XR79103, XR79106, XR79203 and XR79206 as additions to its family of synchronous step-down power modules with input voltage up to 40V. All four single output devices with high operating efficiency and low temperature rise in a compact QFN package includes easy to use, fully integrated power converters including MOSFETs, inductors and high frequency input capacitor. Delivers Adjustable Regulated Output The XR79103 and XR79106 operate from a 4.5V to 22V input supply, delivering a regulated output adjustable between 0.6V to 5.5V. With 40V maximum input voltage, the XR79203 and XR79206 add the ability to convert from loosely regulated 24VDC, rectified 18VAC and 24VAC sources. The output voltage can be set from 0.6V to 13.2V. Using Exar’s patented emulated current mode constant on-time (COT) control, these power modules have the fast transient response of conventional COT control loops, while providing excellent line and load regulation performance. These modules offer a host of supervisory and protection features for proper sequencing, safe operation under abnormal operating conditions and light load operation. The combination of wide input voltage range, a thermally efficient package, tight regulation accuracy and small solution size makes these power modules well suited for applications in communications, drones and remote vehicles, industrial, after-market automotive and FPGA and SOC power systems. The XR79103 (6mm x 6mm x 4mm), XR79106 (8mm x 8mm x 4mm), XR79203 (8mm x 8mm x 4mm) and XR79206 (10mm x 10mm x 4mm) are available in RoHS compliant, green/halogen free, space-saving QFN packages. Prices start at $4.25, $5.40, $8.50 and $9.95, respectively, in quantities of 1,000.
Exar to display diverse range of products applicable to the expanding IoT market Exar Corporation, a leading supplier of analog mixed-signal products serving the industrial, high-end consumer and infrastructure markets, will showcase its diverse products that are highly applicable to the expanding Internet of Things (IoT) market at Embedded World 2016, February 23-25, Nuremberg, Germany. These products, from front-end sensor interfaces through connectivity bridges and power solutions to drivers for LED lighting, will be on show on Booth 422 in Hall 5. Sensor Interface Exar’s award winning XR10910 Sensor Interface offers an onboard 16:1 differential multiplexer, offset correction DAC, programmable gain instrumentation amplifier and voltage reference. This analog front-end provides 14-bit signal path linearity to connect multiple bridge sensors to a microcontroller (MCU). It is particularly applicable for force sensing where it can enable new touch-sensitive user interfaces that are rugged and work on any surface. This will be demonstrated on the booth by the XR15715 force-sensing module. Connectivity Bridge The Exar XR22804 is one of a family of USB to Ethernet Bridge ICs that offer an unprecedented level of integration, combining a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub with controllers for 10/100 Ethernet, I2C, EDGE GPIO and up to four UARTs in a single chip. This bridge solution, providing multiple communication standards from a single USB port, will allow many legacy product designs to be readily adapted for connection to the Internet of Things (IoT). The devices also serve the markets for industrial equipment, factory automation, networking, test and POS terminals and many other embedded applications. Power Solutions Specifically addressing 40V power for industrial applications, Exar has a range of solutions that include its XR76203/05/08 Synchronous Step-Down Constant on-Time Regulators, its XR79203/06 High Current Power Modules and its XR77129 Single-Chip 40V Programmable PMIC. These parts feature industry-leading performance: regulators with exceptional line/load regulation, modules with the highest power density and smallest size and controllers that solve unique and difficult power conversion challenges. LED Drivers Exar’s patented AC step driving ICs provide industry-leading solutions for the LED downlight fixtures used in high bay and custom lighting applications. These drivers do not require the inductors, transformers, electrolytic capacitors or metal oxide varistors (MOVs) normally found in AC-DC designs. This enables customers to eliminate their separate driver circuit board and greatly reduce their total BOM cost. In addition, these solutions deliver a very high power factor, very low THD, high surge immunity, low flicker and provide a dimming capability compatible with a wide range of industry-standard TRIAC dimmers. The XR46110 is a single-stage AC step driver while the XR46050 provides a two-stage single chip solution.
Exar Corporation, a leading supplier of analog mixed-signal products serving the industrial, high-end consumer and infrastructure markets, announces the VRC7016XE, a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) PCI Express (PCIe) add-in card designed for professional video surveillance applications. The VRC7016XE card features two Exar S7110 software configurable processors and performs H.264 encoding on 16 channels of up to 960H NTSC/PAL video at full resolution and frame rate. With 960H video, surveillance professionals realize a 33% greater horizontal field-of-view (FOV) than what typical D1 CCTV video cameras provide. The increased FOV reduces the number of surveillance cameras required and increases resolution for a given coverage area. Easy Integration And High Bandwidth The VRC7016XE is designed specifically for video surveillance equipment OEMs. The card is controlled via the Intelligent Encoder Software Development Kit (SDK) for either Linux or Windows. The VRC7016XE is compatible with Exar’s S7000-based PCIe cards. With clear SDK documentation and the support of Exar’s application engineering group, OEM design teams can integrate the card into their software easily, achieving rapid time-to-market. The low profile, short form factor card is readily embedded in compact industrial PCs and servers. A high bandwidth PCIe interface provides connectivity to the host. Two user-configurable spot monitor outputs are provided, eliminating the need for additional output cards and reducing the cost of surveillance installations. The card also supports eight channels of alarm I/O and an RS-485 interface for remote camera control through an I/O header with an optional I/O card. Extensive video preprocessing coupled with Exar’s Intelligent Encoder gives the VRC7016XE pristine video quality while maintaining high compression levels. This results in tremendous reduction in storage costs for surveillance installations using the VRC7016XE card. The programmable accelerator of the S7110 at the core of the intelligent encoder delivers multi-stream encoding of baseline, main and high-profile H.264 Advanced Video CODEC (AVC). In addition, the S7110 video processors drive H.264 Scalable Video CODEC (SVC) compression, enabling flexible and efficient resizing and resampling of multi-stream surveillance video. Compressed video can be adapted to match the available network bandwidth and decode capabilities of the client. SVC streams can also be parsed, reducing storage requirements over time to retain a valid video archive for longer periods.
