Reliance Security Services Ltd announces that it is one of the first security companies to have achieved an extension to its Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) status to cover Scotland.

The Approved Contractor Scheme is the Security Industry Authority's benchmark of quality for customers.  The introduction of the scheme in Scotland has the advantage of giving accredited companies the ability to employ a small proportion of non-licensed personnel who are trained and have submitted an application, but who are not working with children or vulnerable adults, once licensing comes into force in November 2007.

Reliance Security Services has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow and employs around 1500 security personnel in a variety of industry sectors across Scotland.

This extension will be noted on the Register of Approved Contractors and on the SIA's website and demonstrates that Reliance has, to date, complied with the licence application targets and a range of other criteria for the scheme, which comes into effect in November.
