Lenses from Rainbow CCTV are being used at Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road ground.
The model being employed is a 6.5-65mm focal length zoom which is compatible with 1/3” and ¼” cameras.
The lenses are sited on one of the stadium’s main gantries in PTZ mounted cameras and are used predominantly to monitor crowd behaviour on the other side of the pitch.
Watford FC’s CCTV systems are maintained by Strood-based Ewatch Limited who will be helping the client to migrate from a legacy analog system to a DVR solution from Dedicated Micros with whom Ewatch have close ties.
Nicknamed ‘the Hornets’, the club was formed in 1881 and joined the Football league in 1920. Watford were promoted to the (old) Division One in 1982. They have consistently hit the headlines through Sir Elton John’s lifelong passion for the team and high-profile involvement.
The Hornets have been managed in the past by Graham Taylor and Gianluca Vialli. This season they dispatched Premiership outfits Southampton and Portsmouth from the Carling Cup before going out in the semi-finals over two hard-fought legs to Liverpool.
