North American Video, a leading security systems integrator, has been awarded a $1 million expansion to the video surveillance and security system at the Tulalip Casino in Marysville, Washington. The focal point of the extended system will be the capability to record and control up to 612 cameras over a digital network within the 227,000 square-foot facility.
Owned by the Tulalip Tribes, a federally recognized Indian Tribe, the Tulalip Casino, opened in early 2002 and is one of the largest gaming facilities in Washington State. In addition to the Tulalip Casino, the Tulalip Tribes also own the smaller (48,000 square feet) Quil Ceda Creek Casino and both are located on the Tulalip Reservation, about 35 miles north of Seattle.
“A networked digital solution for this casino was one of the first priorities discussed last fall when North American Video was awarded the contract to supply video surveillance and security systems to the Tulalip Tribe Casinos,” said Cynthia Freschi, President of North American Video. “This new highly advanced digital recording system opens the door for more highly integrated solutions as the Tribe’s entertainment complex grows.”
New regulations in the State of Washington require gambling service suppliers to be licensed and North American Video is one of the few security technology firms who meet eligibility requirements for this license. The Tulalip Casino system expansion was designed by the headquarters office team in New Jersey which is also credited with the recent industry benchmark installations at Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas and the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. According to Freschi, North American Video’s local office in Washington will manage and install the expansion system at the Tulalip Casino that incorporates Honeywell’s enterprise digital video recorders, dome camera systems, encoders and system control software.
