Verint Systems Inc. recently announced that the University of Leeds has deployed the Verint® Nextiva® Enterprise IP video solution to enhance the safety of students and facilities across the university's campus and associated locations in West Yorkshire.

The University of Leeds is the second largest university in the UK with 30,500 students and 8,000 staff, and is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well being of its community.  In support of this commitment, the university has deployed Nextiva in certain public places, both on the main campus and in a number of remote locations, including a computer cluster at Leeds General Infirmary.  Nextiva will help Leeds deter crime and provide staff responsible for health and safety with the actionable intelligence needed to respond effectively to potential problems.

According to Simon Mulholland, a project manager within the Network Team at the University of Leeds, "The Verint solution is proving very successful and already delivering excellent results across our departments."  He adds, "By alerting us to any difficulties, Nextiva will help our teams prevent any incidents and improve our response time."

The Nextiva solution, deployed across Leeds' four virtual Local Area Networks (LANs), was delivered in conjunction with Verint partner Quadrant Security Group.

"We are excited to add Leeds University to our growing list of higher education customers," says David Parcell, managing director, EMEA for Verint Systems.  "Our Nextiva Enterprise solution is well-equipped to secure widely distributed facilities that make up a campus environment, providing the actionable intelligence security personnel require for proactive threat prevention."
