QNAP Systems, Inc. has announced the release of the high-performance TVS-x73e series – an SMB NAS lineup featuring an AMD RX-421BD quad-core APU, up to 64GB DDR4 RAM, two M.2 SATA 6Gb/s SSD slots (for SSD cache acceleration with Qtie auto-tiering), the unique USB QuickAccess port, dual 4K HDMI output, and hardware-assisted 4K video transcoding acceleration.

Private Cloud

Designed for versatile business needs, the secure and scalable TVS-x73e series provides a pair of PCIe slots for flexibly installing 10GbE NICs, QM2 cards or USB 3.1 10Gbps cards, presenting small and medium businesses with the perfect NAS solution to build a private cloud for applications including high-speed data transfer, backup/recovery, virtualization, media playback and graphics display.

“The TVS-x73e NAS series is powered by an AMD quad-core APU with up to 3.4 GHz clock speed and also provides dual PCIe slots that add more value to maximize NAS potential for a wider range of applications, making the TVS-x73e ideal for organizations and professionals who ask for performance and expandability,” said Jason Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP.

TVS-x73e series includes 4, 6, and 8-drive bay models

Housed in a state-of-the-art metal design, the TVS-x73e series includes 4, 6, and 8-drive bay models that feature a high-performance and energy-efficient AMD RX-421BD quad-core 2.1 GHz APU (Turbo Core up to 3.4 GHz) and 4/8GB DDR4 RAM (up to 64GB). With an optional 10GbE NIC installed, it delivers up to 1139 MB/s throughput and up to 1091 MB/s with AES-NI hardware-accelerated encryption engine. With SSD caching and two built-in M.2 SSD slots, the TVS-x73e can benefit from Qtier technology to optimize storage efficiency across M.2 SSDs, 2.5-inch SSDs and high-capacity HDDs for balanced cost, performance, and capacity. The TVS-x73e series can mitigate the impact of ransomware attacks and to ensure the stability of service operations

The TVS-x73e series includes two PCIe slots that allows greater system flexibility; users can install an optional 10GbE network card for boosting virtualization and high-resolution video editing and sharing; a USB 3.1 Gen.2 (10Gbps) card for transferring large media files to/from USB storage; or QNAP’s innovative QM2 cards that allows for adding up to two M.2 SSDs to configure SSD caching, or to create a RAID 5 tiered storage along with the two M.2 SSDs in the NAS (M.2 SSD sold separately) to increase data protection. There are also QM2 cards that include 10GbE 10GBASE-T connectivity to provide SSD caching with high-speed network connectivity on a single card.

TVS-x73e features AMD 3rd Gen GCN architecture with GPU

The TVS-x73e features AMD 3rd Gen GCN architecture with breakthrough GPU performance to support 4K video decoding and stunning 4K UHD display, and the dual HDMI output with a free remote control makes it easy to enjoy the best audiovisual experience. The business-ready TVS-x73e series is a NAS and iSCSI-SAN unified storage solution that not only supports VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Hyper-V and Windows Server, 2012 R2 environments, but can also natively host multiple virtual machines (with Windows, Linux, UNIX and Android) and containers (LXC and Docker).

Running the intelligent QTS operating system, the TVS-x73e series performs as an integrated storage solution to fulfill file backup, sharing, centralized management, and it supports block-based snapshots to record the state of the system at any time to mitigate the impact of ransomware attacks and to ensure the stability of service operations.

The TVS-x73e series is scalable by connecting QNAP expansion enclosures (UX-800P, UX-500P or REXP-1000 Pro). Storage capacity can also be expanded by using VJBOD (Virtual JBOD) that leverages the unused storage capacity of other QNAP NAS for use as virtual disks.
