ZeroEyes, known for developing an AI-driven gun detection video analytics platform, has announced that Ki Charter, after a successful initial deployment, is expanding its contract.
The ZeroEyes system, which enhances both gun detection and situational awareness, will now be implemented throughout the San Marcos campus of Ki Charter.

Ki Charter is a major educational institution providing services to students housed in residential facilities and day centers across Texas. With a notable student mobility rate of 500%, the institution educates over 6,500 students each year, supported by a dedicated team.
The San Marcos campus, located within the sprawling 65-acre San Marcos Treatment Center, is Texas's largest center of its kind. The center accommodates about 200 residents and students, and employs 425 staff members, with 50 from Ki Charter and 375 from the treatment center itself.

Dr. Jerry Lager, Superintendent of Ki Charter, commented, “At Ki Charter, we serve a unique population of behaviorally challenged students, so our approach to security has to be comprehensive, proactive, and intentional.”
He highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Safety and Security Committee, campus teams, mental health staff, and local law enforcement in managing potential threats, noting that ZeroEyes provides an added layer of real-time threat awareness. “After seeing how effective the technology was, expanding its use was an easy decision,” Lager added.

The AI-powered gun detection technology from ZeroEyes is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing digital security cameras. Upon detecting a firearm, images are transmitted to the ZeroEyes Operations Center (ZOC), which is solely U.S.-based and staffed round-the-clock by military and law enforcement veterans.
If the threat is confirmed, alerts complete with visual data, details about the firearm, and the last known location are sent to law enforcement and local security teams, typically within just 3 to 5 seconds from initial detection.
