The 60,000 m² site will be developed as a base to produce Hanwha Techwin security products Hanwha Techwin’s security business group, under the leadership of President Lee Man-Seob, held a ground-breaking ceremony on 20th April, 2017, for a newly established subsidiary in Vietnam, with a $100m investment to expand its global security business. Several locations were considered for the new subsidiary in Vietnam. After conducting market research, Bac Ninh province, lying about 35 km North East of Hanoi, was chosen as the final location as it is able to offer significant benefits in respect of parts supply, logistics, and manpower. Video Cameras And Recording Devices A 60,000 m² site will be developed as a base to produce Hanwha Techwin security products, including cameras and recording devices. Construction is due to be completed by December 2017, with production line set-up and test production targeted for the first half of 2018, and mass production commencing in the second half of 2018.The investment was successfully accelerated due to the Vietnam government’s ‘Friendly policy’, ‘Flexible labor market’ and the securing of various logistics channels for import and export through land and neighboring ports. It shows that Hanwha Techwin is planning to expand its security business in the mid-long term through diversifying production base. Building a subsidiary in Vietnam, in addition to the existing factory in Tianjin China, reflects this. Securing Excellent Manpower "We will not hesitate to make further bold investments in development and marketing in the future" Hanwha Techwin will benefit in terms of production capability expansion (8 million units/year), enhanced cost competitiveness through production cost innovation and securing excellent manpower with relatively low labor costs. All of those benefits will drive Hanwha Techwin to jump into the South East Asian market where there is rapid growth, helping it become a global security company.“This is part of an aggressive investment strategy which will enable us to successfully compete in the global market while demonstrating Hanwha Group’s active commitment in its security business,” said Lee Man-Seob, President & CEO of the Hanwha Techwin Security Business Group. “We will not hesitate to make further bold investments in development and marketing in the future.”
The partnership is intended to strengthen the competitiveness of AI-based security products and solutions Hanwha Techwin’s security business group, under the leadership of President Lee Man-Seob, has agreed to establish a partnership with AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology leader, NVIDIA. This is intended to strengthen the competitiveness of AI-based security products and solutions. NVIDIA: Leading AI Technology Field NVIDIA is a US-based company which has pioneered modern computer graphics and has achieved success through the development and manufacturing of GPUs (Graphic Processing Units). Recently, NVIDIA has been leading the AI technology field by revealing GPUs for computers, robots and self-driving cars, based on Deep Learning algorithms. Through this global partnership, Hanwha Techwin and NVIDIA are planning to collaborate on the intelligent video analysis platform which is currently being developed by NVIDIA. Deep Learning NVIDIA's intelligent video analysis platform will feature AI GPUs based on Deep Learning on security devices, such as cameras and storage media, which will allow for fast and accurate video analysis data that provides meaningful information to customers rather than giving simple video data to them. Hanwha Techwin plans to concentrate on developing AI cameras and storage devices capable of autonomously detecting abnormal movements and situations by utilizing the AI video analysis platform from NVIDIA. Integration Of AI-based Solutions In addition, the platform can be applied to various solutions from Hanwha Techwin, including city surveillance, retail and traffic, etc. This will lead to the integration of AI-based solutions, allowing the company to move forward as a security specialist with hardware and software capabilities, alongside future-oriented technologies and competitive AI. “Our collaboration with NVIDIA allows us to take a step towards future security solutions based on AI and deep learning to continue to strengthen our technological competitiveness in this market,” said Lee Man-Seob, President & CEO of the Hanwha Techwin Security Business Group.
The Wisenet 5 chipset is the most important component developed by Hanwha Techwin’s core technologies Hanwha Techwin, a provider of global security, launches the Wisenet X series with an embedded proprietary chipset. The Wisenet 5 chipset incorporated into the Wisenet X series, is the most important component to date developed by Hanwha Techwin’s core technologies. “Wisenet 5, our latest chipset, offers extremely high performance. It’s at the core of Hanwha Techwin’s competitiveness,” said Lee Man-Seob, President & CEO of the Hanwha Techwin Security Business Group. “The Wisenet X series is our first product range to use this single chip solution. As a result, our new 5 megapixel and 2 megapixel camera lineups will redefine industry standards, not only with exceptionally sharp images, but also with much faster image processing and upgraded functions.” Wisenet X Features The Wisenet X series offers 150dB WDR, image stabilisation using gyro sensors and razor sharp images 24/7 with improved low-light performance. Using WiseStream II, the second generation of Hanwha Techwin’s unique compression technology, the Wisenet X series delivers the most bandwidth friendly camera range. There are also many other notable key benefits, including a variety of on-board analytics. With the release of the Wisenet X series, Hanwha Techwin meets the market demands in all areas of video surveillance. By adding the Wisenet X series to the recently released Wisenet Q and P series, Hanwha Techwin has now established a full line-up, from highly affordable entry level, to competitively priced high-performance products which will satisfy the needs of projects and customers in all vertical sectors. Hanwha Techwin is drawing a lot of attention with the new Wisenet X series and plans to invest considerably in the areas of product development and marketing. 150dB WDR Offers Sharp Images Without Any Blurring An existing WDR image is captured by composing 2 frames with different exposures. The Wisenet X series with 150dB WDR uses 4 frames to create a more natural image. New technology has been developed to remove blurring which is a critical weakness of existing WDR, and provides clear and vivid images. More Accurate Stabilisation Using Gyro Sensors "Our new 5 megapixel and 2 megapixel camera lineups will redefine industry standards, not only with exceptionally sharp images, but also with much faster image processing and upgraded functions" Gyro sensors have been built into Wisenet X cameras for more accurate stabilisation. Stabilisation comes into effect when a camera is disturbed by wind or vibrations, resulting in more stable images. Monitor Color Images, Even In Low-Light Environments With the new chipset being used in the Wisenet X series and Hanwha Techwin’s outstanding lens technology, images can be monitored in color even in low-light environments without IR LED. Vivid images can now be captured regardless of the environment or the time of day. Reduce Data By Up To 99% Using WiseStream II The Wisenet X cameras feature H.265 compression and WiseStream II, a complementary compression technology which dynamically controls encoding, balancing quality and compression according to movement in the image. Bandwidth efficiency is improved by up to 99% compared to current H.264 technology when WiseStream II is combined with H.265 compression. This ensures that Hanwha Techwin’s new Wisenet X series is one of the most bandwidth friendly camera ranges available. More Diverse Analytics The Wisenet X series offers many useful analytics. The audio analysis function recognises critical sounds, such as gunshots, explosions, screams, and broken glass, and then immediately raises an alarm. Among the other analytics features incorporated into Wisenet X cameras, queue management can analyze queues generated in, for example, a retail store or bank. Dual SD Slots And USB Installation For Added Convenience Using an onboard USB port, Wisenet X series cameras can be connected to mobile devices via Wi-Fi. View angles can be checked immediately while installing using a smartphone. Dual SD slots allow up to 512 GB to be saved automatically to the camera, safely keeping data in the event of an unstable network.
