Several locations were considered for the new subsidiary in Vietnam. After conducting market research, Bac Ninh province, lying about 35 km North East of Hanoi, was chosen as the final location as it is able to offer significant benefits in respect of parts supply, logistics, and manpower. Video Cameras And Recording Devices A 60,000 m² site will be developed as a base to produce Hanwha Techwin security products, including cameras and recording devices. Construction is due to be completed by December 2017, with production line set-up and test production targeted for the first half of 2018, and mass production commencing in the second half of 2018.The investment was successfully accelerated due to the Vietnam government’s ‘Friendly policy’, ‘Flexible labor market’ and the securing of various logistics channels for import and export through land and neighboring ports. It shows that Hanwha Techwin is planning to expand its security business in the mid-long term through diversifying production base. Building a subsidiary in Vietnam, in addition to the existing factory in Tianjin China, reflects this. This is intended to strengthen the competitiveness of AI-based security products and solutions.    NVIDIA: Leading AI Technology Field NVIDIA is a US-based company which has pioneered modern computer graphics and has achieved success through the development and manufacturing of GPUs (Graphic Processing Units). Recently, NVIDIA has been leading the AI technology field by revealing GPUs for computers, robots and self-driving cars, based on Deep Learning algorithms. Through this global partnership, Hanwha Techwin and NVIDIA are planning to collaborate on the intelligent video analysis platform which is currently being developed by NVIDIA. Deep Learning NVIDIA's intelligent video analysis platform will feature AI GPUs based on Deep Learning on security devices, such as cameras and storage media, which will allow for fast and accurate video analysis data that provides meaningful information to customers rather than giving simple video data to them. Hanwha Techwin plans to concentrate on developing AI cameras and storage devices capable of autonomously detecting abnormal movements and situations by utilizing the AI video analysis platform from NVIDIA.
