This latest round of TDSi appointments follows an impressive set of recent recruitments across the company Integrated security solutions manufacturer TDSi announces the appointment of its new Graduate Software Developer; Thomas Bird and Senior Export Technical Support Engineer; Kevan Fry. Reflecting on the appointments, John Davies, Managing Director of TDSi commented, “Software has rapidly become an essential facet of any security provider’s offering and at TDSi it is as much a focus for our development as our hardware products. We have a highly talented and experienced development team, but it’s also a discipline that is very rapidly evolving. An important part of keeping our team fresh is taking on young people with a flair and passion to develop our offering – so I am delighted to welcome Thomas Bird as our latest graduate recruit.” Thomas studied A-Levels at Exeter College before gaining a first class degree in Mathematics at Portsmouth University. He went on to study a Master’s Degree in Advanced Mathematics at Exeter University and graduated with a merit. Growing the technical support team, which assists both partners and customers, is equally vital, as John Davies added, “As well as developing the right products we need to ensure these systems can be successfully installed and integrated at customer sites around the world – so I am equally pleased to welcome Kevan to the team. He will be available to support our export partners and their technical needs or enquires wherever they are in the world.” Before taking on the new role, Kevan previously worked with TDSi as a contractor, as well as being an EPOS systems engineer and also a Radar Technician with the Royal Air Force. Upon accepting the new role he commented, “I enjoy learning and training with new technology as well as traveling and meeting new people – so being the new Senior Export Technical Support Engineer is a perfect role for me. As part of the initiative, TDSi sales team has participated in Dale Carnegie training to meet future customer needs To ensure it meets future customer needs and continues to accelerate its growth, integrated security solutions manufacturer, TDSi is implementing a number of new training initiatives to maintain the flexibility and adaptability of its employees As part of this, the TDSi sales team has participated in Dale Carnegie training to center its attention on long-term strategies for growth centred around the customer journey. Members of the TDSi sales team have taken part in a Dale Carnegie course entitled ‘Sales Advantage’ which aims to strengthen the overall sales process. TDSi’s Director of UK Sales, Adam Norris commented, “It’s vital that TDSi continues to grow its sales strategy and portfolio to match the market needs, so as part of our ongoing development we have taken part in Dale Carnegie’s world-renowned training. Since the economic downturn, the market has rightly become much more focussed on what customers need and expect, as opposed to simply selling standardized products. We want to be perfectly positioned to meet these needs and continue to provide precisely the purchasing experience that customers expect from TDSi” The training proved to be a highly valuable experience for the team, as Adam Norris elaborated, “Our team attended the course and I am proud to say our results put us firmly in the top third of the class. It demonstrated our strengths but also suggested new ways to enhance our sales process. Along with sales training, TDSi is also providing development opportunities including AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) training for members of its accounts team and NVQ training for members of the customer service team. Lucy explained, “I am due to complete the Level 2 Certificate in July, with the aim of doing Level 3 next year. TDSi is helping me to expand my skills and training while working, which undoubtedly benefits our customers but also gives me great scope to further my career at the same time.” TDSi Technical Support Engineer Michael Lee joined TDSi last year and is now studying for an NVQ in Customer Support in conjunction with his day-to-day role. Michael commented, “The NVQ helps me to plan and assess the way I interact with our customers. It’s a one-year course and includes a lot of training on rules and regulations as well as practical ways to enhance the way I work. I produce anonymous case studies on various real-life situations and challenges to demonstrate how I put my new skills into practise. It’s very useful to have the support of TDSi in completing this qualifications as it will benefit me personally as well as adding value to the service we provide customers.”
