The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced recognition of Ted Curtin of Repworks Inc. and Joel Schwartz of LCA Sales as SIA Sandy Jones Volunteers of the Year for 2017.
With the award, SIA recognizes Curtin and Schwartz for pioneering a new category of SIA membership with manufacturer’s representatives. Thanks to the efforts of Curtin and Schwartz, manufacturer’s reps are eligible to join SIA at a special associate’s membership rate.
SIA Chairman Denis Hébert will present the 2017 Sandy Jones Volunteer of the Year Awards to Curtin and Schwartz at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting, scheduled to occur on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, during ISC West 2018.

Expanding SIA Membership
“SIA membership is important to security manufacturing companies and to the entire business channel, including manufacturers’ representatives—who are often the essential liaison with a manufacturer’s partners, integrators, service providers and practitioners,” said Schwartz, “As a manufacturer’s representative, I’m pleased to help manufacturers and representatives achieve their goals, and to expand SIA’s membership to this vital part of the channel.”

Hébert will present SIA award recipients, including the Sandy Jones Volunteer of the Year Award, SIA Chairman’s Award and SIA Committee Chair of the Year Award at The Advance, held during ISC West.
