Sepura Announces The Appointment Of LTE Specialist, Rob Merrick As Business Development Manager For Broadband Products

Sepura has moved to further develop its presence in the LTE critical communications market with the recruitment of Rob Merrick as the company’s Business Development Manager for Broadband Products.

Rob Merrick’s role will be to continue to grow Sepura’s presence in the evolving LTE market space, supporting customers and partners in deploying Sepura’s mission-critical broadband solutions.

New appointment at Sepura

Previously, he served as Solutions Architect at the UK Home Office, where he played a leading role in the development of the Emergency Services Network Project, as Subject Matter Expert on Mission Critical LTE.

Rob Merrick also represented the UK Home Office in discussions on 3GPP standards, helping to build the technical architecture for the MCX solution and working with end-users to ensure ESN meets their requirements.

Drive expansion in LTE critical communications

He will bring this detailed understanding of users’ requirements to Sepura, as the company grows its presence in the emerging LTE market, building on the company’s extensive experience in providing public safety and commercial organizations with critical communications solutions, over the past 20 years.

Prior to his role at the UK Home Office, Rob Merrick had worked for the Directorate for Emergency Communication in Norway, as Technical Architect on Nodnett, and he has also held technical architect roles at Nokia and Motorola.

There are significant opportunities in the market, where LTE solutions can answer customers’ operational needs by providing access to mission-critical data in the field. Sepura are perfectly placed to respond to this need with the SCU3 and I look forward to supporting the company moving forwards in this area.”
