A new graphic released by the Security Executive Council (SEC) will help corporate security pioneers and their teams identify skills gaps and track their progress toward Next Generation Security Leadership.

The Next Generation Security Leader graphic, version 2, maps out six categories of skills significant to security leadership success and invites security teams to check off skill sets they’ve attained so they can focus on mastery in other critical areas.
The content draws upon SEC research into the traditional career backgrounds of corporate security pioneers and the competencies required and valued in the current corporate security environment.

While the same six knowledge streams apply even in present times, this new version recognizes a greater shift toward cross-functional knowhow and collaboration, executive-level business performance, and team leadership.
