The PSIA will provide a briefing with the latest updates and roadmaps for its various industry initiatives on April 7th at 10 A.M at ISC West in Sand Convention Center, Las Vegas. Manufacturers and end users will discuss and demonstrate how real-world solutions have moved from concept to development using the PLAI specification.
Faster And Efficient Security Administration
Speaking on behalf of Microsoft Global Security will be Mike Faddis, Director of Microsoft Global Security.
Faddis commented, "Global Security and its partners are involved in activities to integrate the various security systems of the various companies that Microsoft has acquired. When a company and its technology is acquired, and the business leadership makes decisions about the geography of assets, and the people that will accompany an acquisition, it's my team's job to ensure that we optimize the mix of new and existing technologies to enable a secure work experience and protect access to assets."
"Frequently, after acquisition, some locations will be operated for a period of time, and it becomes important to consider how we might get the best from existing systems while integrating or transitioning to new ones. The PSIA's PLAI technology specification means that we can now pass identities to PLAI-enabled security systems during on-boarding and enable access for team members, while also transitioning identities to new workplaces and systems as that company becomes part of the global Microsoft family."
Faddis also says "The very creation of PLAI technology means that different brands of access systems can now utilize identities generated from our corporate security infrastructure, which means faster and efficient security administration, at a lower cost point to the business while we implement an appropriate and compliant level of security experience."

Background: During the last two years, PSIA members from the security industry have worked together to discuss and conceive how to solve "the identity problem" and develop a specification in which manufacturers could implement solutions allowing logical networks and different physical security access control systems to interoperate together using a single identity source.
