Developed in collaboration with Intellian Technologies, Inc. and Collins Aerospace, this terminal, named the Compact-Electronically Steered Antenna OW1, is integral to OneWeb's strategy to provide high-performance, easy-to-install, and affordable communication services to underserved regions and sectors.
Enhancing Connectivity with OneWeb-Powered Satellite Broadband
The OW1 terminal features a flat-panel antenna that combines performance, versatility, and a sleek design, making it optimal for delivering OneWeb-powered satellite broadband across various environments. The antenna is straightforward to set up, requiring only fundamental mounting and wiring skills. Its compact size, approximately 50x43x10 cm and weighing about 10 kg, makes it as portable as a briefcase.

The antenna is designed to work with a OneWeb satellite modem housed in an environmentally sealed outdoor unit. It can be mounted using a stabilized J-mount, allowing connectivity through a single cable that combines power and data, linking to an indoor unit. This setup will facilitate internet access for devices like laptops and routers.
Progressive Milestones and Future Prospects
Following the successful 'Five to 50' satellite launch campaign, which has enabled OneWeb services to expand to regions such as Canada, the UK, and Northern Europe, OneWeb expects to deploy a full fleet of satellites by 2022. The flat-panel antenna will integrate with a OneWeb satellite modem in an environmentally sealed outdoor unit, can be installed using an optional stabilized J-mount and will connect via a single combined power and data cable to an indoor unit that will in turn provide connectivity to the end user devices, such as laptops or routers.
The new device follows the successful completion of OneWeb’s ‘Five to 50’ launch programme that has delivered the satellites required to bring OneWeb services to Canada, the UK and Northern Europe later this year. OneWeb is on track to deploy its full fleet of satellites by 2022.
