Intellian has reached a significant milestone with its newly launched 2.4m v240MT Gen-II antenna, which has secured type approval from SES, a leader in content connectivity solutions. This achievement underscores Intellian’s ongoing impact in the mobile satellite communication systems market.
The predecessor of this model, the v240MT Gen-I, was notable for being the first 2.4m tri-band and multi-orbit antenna and earned the Via Satellite’s Satellite Technology of the Year Award in 2019.

The v240MT Gen-II is equipped to offer enhanced performance across C, Ku, and Ka bands, granting users increased access to higher data throughput and improving network efficiency.
These improvements were validated through a partnership with SES, resulting in remarkable outcomes during extensive testing and sea trials.
Performance of the v240MT Gen-II
Intellian's latest model, combined with the advanced Intelligent Mediator solution, allows clients to manage up to eight antennas simultaneously, thus ensuring seamless connectivity.
This setup not only maximizes the performance and throughput of onboard systems, but also offers customers the advantage of managing and controlling these systems both on-site and remotely. Such capabilities contribute to substantial cost savings through more efficient monitoring and maintenance.
New Path for Maritime Satellite Communications
Eric Sung, CEO of Intellian, commented on the collaboration with SES, stating, “As SES operates the industry’s only multi-orbit satellite fleet, with a GEO and MEO constellation, we believe that the v240MT Gen-II antenna system, with its tri-band and multi-orbit flexibility, constitutes a perfect fit.”
He added, “Both companies are focused on delivering innovative solutions to customers in terms of performance, reliability, flexibility, and all-round user experience. It’s exciting to know that we are forging a new path for maritime satellite communications with our valued partners.”
