Eclypses has announced a new partnership with Delta Southern UAS LLC. The companies have agreed to integrate Eclypses' industry leading cybersecurity software, MicroToken Exchange (MTE), into Delta Southern UAS aerial drones used for agriculture, land surveying, emergency response, and law enforcement.

Drones, also known as unmanned aerial systems (UAS), are increasingly finding practical uses in commercial and governmental applications, including disaster recovery, crop management, and surveillance. Unfortunately, security has become a major issue as drones open an array of new avenues for hackers.

Drones can be compromised and hijacked in flight, causing them to crash or used as weapons. Plus, live video streaming from the drone cameras can be intercepted, which is serious vulnerability. Eclypses MTE software secures all aspects of the drone's communications, including inflight command and control as well the live video stream.

Drone-Assisted Security

"The partnership with Eclypses will greatly advance drone security to a new level", says Bill Blackwelder, Delta Southern's president. "We are excited to offer our customers the protection that Eclypses' technology gives them. It's a game changer for the entire drone industry.

Eclypses Executive Vice President Steven Russo adds, "Whether it be the energy sector looking to protect critical infrastructure, the military to prevent putting people in harm's way in dangerous situations, businesses trying to keep their premises safe, or first responders evaluating a crisis from a safe distance, drone-assisted security is an absolute necessity today. Our partnership with Delta Southern UAS creates a new paradigm, advancing drone security to levels never before possible."

Security Training Program

An additional positive side effect of the agreement between Delta Southern UAS and Eclypses' is the number of new job opportunities and technical training that will be created.

Delta Southern UAS has previously entered into a partnership with Coahoma Community College (CCC) and the Mississippi Delta Council for Farm Workers Opportunities Inc. to begin a workforce training program to train CCC students as drone pilots and spotters. Delta Southern UAS offers services to farmers, land managers and game managers throughout the Delta.
