The partnership provides Identiv and 3M’s customers with high-security assurance and forward compatibility
Identiv's uTrust TS Reader technology is being integrated into 3M's MiY multi-factor authentication biometric devices

Identiv, Inc. recently announced that it has entered a bilateral partnership with 3M, an innovative technology company that serves consumer, electronics and energy, healthcare, industrial, and safety and graphics markets. Initially, Identiv's uTrust TS Reader technology is being integrated into 3M's MiY multi-factor authentication biometric devices. Both Identiv and 3M will sell the completed solution.

This partnership provides Identiv and 3M’s customers with high-security assurance and forward compatibility to meet multiple compliance mandates. Identiv’s uTrust TS Reader is specifically designed to support any existing building access system (such as Identiv, Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, Bosch, Casi, or Software House) and provide a forward path to newer standards, such as U.S. government Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (FICAM) compliance and network cabling.

“Integrating Identiv’s new reader line with MiY will allow 3M to expand our credential support within our MiY product line,” said Chris Crump, 3M Global Portfolio Manager. “This partnership provides our customers and Identiv’s with the best solution for high assurance physical access.”

The uTrust TS Reader platform supports all major commercial and government access credentials, including U.S. government PIV, PIV-I, and CAC. High-assurance credentials are quickly and easily available from Identiv’s idOnDemand service — delivering a standards-based, single trusted identity solution via a cloud-based service.

“We’re excited to partner with 3M and broaden the use of our industry-leading uTrust TS Reader platform,” said Jason Hart, Identiv CEO. “Customers can be confident that they are buying a reader compatible with existing access technologies that also paves a clear path to future high-assurance standards, including U.S. government FICAM mandates and a networked infrastructure.”

Identiv’s uTrust Technology Partnership Program provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) access to Identiv’s uTrust solution portfolio to integrate into their own solutions. The program focuses on expanding the use of uTrust technologies beyond traditional Identiv channels and applications. The goal is to provide partnership members with the products to manage identities within their respective technology platforms.
