Three free webinars will be held on August 29, September 12 and October 10, all at 2 pm Eastern time
The seminar will be held September 17, 2013, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas

To better help schools, integrators and security consultants keep schoolchildren and K-12 staff safe, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies recently announced its autumn line-up of support, including a special security seminar, several webinars and aid in locating funding. Both the seminar and webinars will be done in consort with Paul Timm, PSP, President of Reta Security. Timm is a Board Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP), member of the Illinois Terrorism Task Force and one of the nation’s leading experts in school and campus safety.

The seminar will be held September 17, 2013, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas, and is a collaboration between private partners such as Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, Timm, the American Clearinghouse on Educational Facilities (ACEF), the Texas Education Agency and Educational Service Centers across Texas. This interactive seminar will present real solutions, many of which can be implemented at little or no cost. Among the topics will be “Interactive Security Assessment Basics,” “Visitor Management Procedures,” “Overcoming Yesterday’s Design Challenges,” “Lockdown Procedures (including “Active Shooter Responses”)” and “Emergency Preparedness Basics.” The seminar is free but registration is required. Contact the ACEF at 855-610-2233 or acef@acefacilities.org.

Three free webinars will be held on August 29, September 12 and October 10, all at 2 pm Eastern time. Facilitated by Timm, topics will include “Learn How to Identify and Address Key Areas of Vulnerability” and “Best Practices in Current Emergency Preparedness Standards.” Registration is on the Ingersoll Rand website.

Ingersoll Rand will also help schools identify funding allocations, identify decision makers who manage this money, provide insight into grant usage, recommend grant writing resources, conduct site assessments and prepare recommendations and specifications. Ingersoll Rand utilizes a 24/7 cloud-based database of federal and state grant funding information. Not only does this database provide access to all public and private grants for public and private schools but it additionally details who in the school must write the grant and relays the type of equipment that the grant will help purchase. Over $11 billion in funding has been identified.

“Schools are faced with the daunting challenge of protecting students, staff, and visitors under increasingly difficult circumstances,” emphasises Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies Director, Vertical Markets April Dalton-Noblitt. “We hope school administrators, integrators and security consultants will join us in improving school security both collaboratively and comprehensively. Facilities both old and new will benefit from the latest loss prevention methods and timeless security strategies.”
