The BSIA has expanded its membership of Euralarm into its Services Section. This section links all services associated with the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of security and fire systems across Europe and internationally.

The BSIA was already an active member of the Euralarm Security Section, representing the interests of manufacturers in regulatory and standardization matters. The BSIA also represents the views of its members in their horizontal compliance, cyber security, and marketing task groups.

Direct input

Being a member of Euralarm and the Services Section allows BSIA to participate actively and influence the work of Euralarm for European and International standards impacting intruder & hold-up alarms, Access Control, Video Surveillance, fire alarm, and other associated sectors.

Via its membership BSIA has direct input into Euralarm’s position on matters connected with the European Union. E.g., directives and regulations, such as cyber security, data privacy, artificial intelligence, etc.

Other benefits

Other benefits are the direct input into Euralarm’s discussions with the CENELEC contact management center (those who set the rules for standards development), the development of position papers on topics associated with the section’s work, direct influence on the development and implementation of Euralarm’s strategy for the section and an opportunity to share knowledge and present the work of BSIA to other national trade associations, members and guests of Euralarm.

The expanded membership allows BSIA to keep pace with work associated with European security services e.g., standards, qualification, training, and a further ‘vote’ for BSIA in Euralarm’s General Assembly. This also provides an opportunity for the BSIA members to directly engage in Euralarm.
