AMAG Technology’s Vice President of Enterprise Solutions, Stuart Tucker, joined the Physical Security Interoperability Alliance Board of Directors. The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance (PSIA) is a global consortium of physical security product companies and system integrators. These companies and individuals are focused on promoting interoperability of IP-enabled security devices and systems across the security ecosystem and beyond.

Adoption Of PLAI Standard

The PSIA develops open specification standards, such as the Physical Logical Access Interoperability (PLAI) specification, for credential management and access control under the direction of its Board of Directors. PSIA supports license-free standards and specifications, which are vetted in an open and collaborative manner to the security industry as a whole. The goal is for security system and device integration to be as simple as the plug and play interoperability currently used for plugging a printer into a computer.

We are developing an adapter for AMAG’s Symmetry CONNECT identity and access management solution"

Joining PSIA and the Board demonstrates AMAG’s commitment to open standards in the security industry,” said Stuart Tucker, Vice President, Enterprise Solutions at AMAG Technology. “We are a huge proponent of open connectivity and look forward to working with PSIA on driving the adoption of the PLAI standard. We are also developing an adapter for AMAG’s Symmetry CONNECT identity and access management solution for our customers who are looking for an open solution.

Including PLAI To PACS System

We are finding growing interest not only from the larger PACS vendors, but also for the second tier vendors who recognize that a PLAI implantation could be critical for keeping them part of an enterprise customer’s security ecosystem,” said David Bunzel, Executive Director of the PSIA. “We are likely to reach a tipping point this year, where enterprise customers will expect PLAI to be included in their PACS system, driving further growth of this specification and the PSIA.

AMAG Technology is an access control, video, identity, visitor, incident and case and intrusion management unified solution provider that helps companies mitigate risk, reduce costs and enforce compliance.
