Looking back on the top news stories of the week, we begin in New York where several Panasonic security cameras have been deployed to monitor a number of municipal buildings, jails and fire stations on Long Island. In Germany, Plustek’s network digital video recorder has been installed at a jewellery store to help put a stop to thefts. At Gdansk University in Poland, Access Control Technology (ACT) has installed proximity readers and door controllers in the student accommodation complexes to give residents an improved access control solution. In corporate news, Bosch has launched a new partner programme for its Building Integration System (BIS) – a modular platform for central alarm management.

As the security industry prepares for ISC West 2011, we bring you some news from the upcoming tradeshow. Optelecom-NKF, manufacturer of Siqura, has announced that it will be highlighting its complete video security and surveillance solutions at the show.
