In application news, mobiDEOS Inc. has announced that, Cheri’s Cafe, a Caribbean restaurant and entertainment spot on St. Maarten Island, is using MobileCamViewer for business surveillance and remote video monitoring.

In events news, Sightlogix will be presenting a webcast on advances in thermal analytic cameras that produce clearer images and greater accuracy at mainstream prices for perimeter security. The webcast, entitled “Thermal Analytic Cameras at Mainstream Pricing for Perimeters”, will take place on the 7th of December. On today’s news round-up, Connexion2 has further expanded its Identicom mobile offering with new versions of the “App” for Apple’s iPhone and Android phones. Veracity has gained EC Automotive Directive approval (E-mark) for its CAMSWITCH QUAD PoE switch, making it suitable for all transport installations. Also in corporate news, 3DX-RAY has announced that it has signed a new £1,460,000 contract to supply four of its SVXi small vehicle x-ray inspection systems to a customer in the Middle East. Over in Israel, Elbit Systems Ltd. was awarded an order by the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) for the supply of Armored Driving Trainers (ADTs) for several Israel Defense Forces combat vehicle types as well as for a Forward Observer Trainer (FOT) for surveillance and observation of the country’s borders.

Over in the UK, in the Borough of Βlaenau Gwent, a Wavestore HVR has been installed by CDS Systems to secure schools, municipal buildings and town centres from vandals. The software allows operators to create or adjust screen layouts in minutes with previews updating as they work. Looking forward to the Defence & Security Equipment International exhibition, which will take place at ExCeL London from the 13th to the 16th of September, Wavestore will display a new mobile DVR. Over in Thailand, MESSOA will be participating in Milestone’s MIPS Asia 2011, an innovative educational and networking event for the IP video surveillance and integration partners. The symposium is designed to share and exchange ideas about new business opportunities that Milestone’s Open Platform will provide and demonstrate how Milestone and MESSOA can better serve clients in the future.

With IFSEC 2011 just days away, we take a look at some of the highlights that will be exhibited at the show. Promise Technology will be showcasing a range of RAID storage solutions, optimised for storing huge data streams within video surveillance projects of any size. At the Wavestore stand, taking centre stage will be its open platform technology, which incorporates video analytics, motion detection and facial recognition.
