LEGIC has announced that is chosen Shanghai Smarfid Security Equipment Co., Ltd. as a licence partner. Smarfid is particularly known as a provider of IP65 OLED display readers. Also in corporate news, Oncam Grandeye has appointed Russell F. Tate as its Vice President of Sales, Americas. Tate brings more than 20 years of experience to the job, with a specialisation in high-growth electronic security companies in the retail arena.

In application news, Vemotion Interactive’s encoder technology solution has been deployed in a fleet of EnterpriseMouchel vehicles in London to assist the provider in managing its client’s road network. With IFSEC 2011 just days away, we take a look at some of the highlights that will be exhibited at the show. Promise Technology will be showcasing a range of RAID storage solutions, optimised for storing huge data streams within video surveillance projects of any size. At the Wavestore stand, taking centre stage will be its open platform technology, which incorporates video analytics, motion detection and facial recognition. The new facial recognition system from Visimetrics will also be highlighted at the show. For those interested in access control solutions, SALTO will be showcasing a number of new access control products.

In other news, in the London Borough of Sutton in the UK, MOBOTIX’s high-resolution IP cameras have been deployed to help residents reduce congestion at the Kimpton Park Way Re-use and Recycling centre.
