In today’s news round-up, Surveon 360° megapixel surveillance and RAID solutions have been deployed in Coseimpa shops across Venezuela. Surveon CAM7511 5 megapixel 360° fisheye cameras are securing the cashier areas while the CAM6351 has been implemented to monitor exterior areas. Over in Italy, Allegion has completed a project to provide an electronic access control system for B&B Hotels Italia. A touch screen kiosk at reception allows guests to enter their personal information and check-in/check-out details, while the Ariane Systems software interfaces with a CISA encoder, programming the security card which is then dispensed to the guest.

In corporate news, newly-elected Chairman of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), Pauline Norstrom, has said she will focus on raising stakeholders’ awareness of the value of quality and innovation over price. In her inaugural address to BSIA members and industry stakeholders at the Association’s Annual Luncheon earlier this month, Pauline outlined her goals for her two-year tenure as Chair. In corporate news, the un-cooled thermal security camera market is forecast to see high unit shipment growth of 25% over the next 5 years, close to twice the rate of the CCTV and video surveillance market according to a new report from IHS.

Over in Poland, AxxonSoft solutions for retail were showcased at the booth of its long-standing technology partner - Axis Communications at  the Shopping Center Forum this year. Following the success of the event, both companies have agreed on bolstering their marketing activities in Eastern Europe, and AxxonSoft will be opening a branch office in Poland. In the UK, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) reflected on a number of successful discussions with MPs, think tanks and Police and Crime Commissioners, which saw the issues of police reform, regulatory change and the CCTV Code of Practice at the forefront of the agenda.
