In today’s news round-up, an agreement has been signed which will see the controlling shareholders of Samsung Techwin and other Samsung Group affiliates sell their holding stakes in Samsung Techwin to Hanwha Group. The transaction is expected to be completed during the first half of 2015. In today’s news round-up, Aasset has supplied a surveillance system from Samsung to improve security at a sixth form college in Farnborough. The system now consists of over 60 cameras; SNP-6200HP PTZ, SNO-7082R bullet, SND-7082 and SNV-7080R dome 3Mp cameras and several SNZ-5200 zoom cameras. Also in application news, Allegion has beat off strong competition to secure contracts totalling £1.25 million to provide 600 steel doorsets for Europe’s biggest construction project, Crossrail. Approximately 350 doorsets will be supplied for The Canary Wharf Crossrail Station, which is set to be one of the largest of the ten Crossrail stations planned for London and the South East.

In today’s news round-up, Samsung Techwin has recently installed a security solution at Horwich Station, Lancashire, to continue to deter and detect anti-social behaviour, vandalism and other forms of criminal activity. Roger Houldsworth, CCTV Technical Manager for Northern Rail, has recently overseen the installation by an in-house engineer of two sixteen channel Samsung Techwin SRD-1673D DVRs. Following the success of the CCTV upgrade project at Horwich Station, SRD-1673Ds are being installed at four other Northern Rail stations. In corporate news, new pan-European research commissioned by Security Products from Siemens has found that a clear majority of consumers do not believe that the widespread use of CCTV infringes on people’s civil liberties. The study which was carried out by YouGov between February and March 2013 questioned over 6,000 adults in France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and the UK about their views on CCTV and its role in society.

In today’s news round-up, Samsung’s IP network video surveillance system has been deployed to secure Gingerbread Corner, a childcare centre in Croydon, Surrey. Samsung’s system replaces an existing outdated analogue CCTV system, with a total of 21 Samsung cameras installed, 16 of which are SND-3082 Day/Night network domes. The SND-3082 features Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning that both power and video/audio transmissions can be provided via a single Ethernet cable connected to Gingerbread Corner’s network. In corporate news, Nedap recently featured its renowned AEOS training in Dubai Silicon Oasis, United Arab Emirates.
