On today’s news round up, we begin by taking a look back at IFSEC 2011. At the IFSEC 2011 Security Industry Awards, electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International Limited, received the award for “Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year” for its graffiti detector product. Magnet Schultz was also riding high as it showcased exciting new electronmagnet products and secretly previewed some impressive new technology to selected visitors at the show. On show at the UTC Fire & Security stand were the latest security and safety solutions from Lenel and Interlogix.
Moving to application news, a new housing development in Bedfordshire, UK has been fitted with Vista’s high-performance dome cameras and the site is being remotely monitored Ace Fire and Security Systems Ltd. to secure the contruction site. Lastly, in a bid to enhance sales operations and optimise customer and partner relationships on a country-by-country level, Mirasys had opened local offices in France and the Benelux region. As preparations for IFSEC 2011 come to a crescendo, Barix announces that it will be exhibiting a number of products, which it has integrated with leading software and solutions providers in the security and surveillance market. HID Global will also be showcasing its latest advances and offerings in solutions for physical and logical access as well as secure card issuance at show. For those attending Cards Middle East 2011 in Abu Dhabi, HID Global will also be present to highlight its broad portfolio of advanced printing and encoding solutions.
In other news, Basler Vision Technologies has appointed Jalmari Vaissi as its new director of sales for IP cameras. On the news round-up today, Bosch announces that it has achieved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification for its IP networking course. At Ohio University in Athens, the scalability of the Morse Watchmans’ key management solution has enabled security management to add six KeyWatcher® cabinets to their system. G4S achieved 75 percent rating in the recent Government’s annual Corporate Assessment of Environmental Social and Economic Responsibility (CAESER) survey.

Raytec is in high spirits as its CCTV lighting series has been chosen as IFSEC 2010 Awards finalist in the CCTV Camera Equipment of the Year category. The PRO series PSU is the latest addition to Raytec’s range of specialist PSUs. Also to showcase its new residential security solution at the show will be Electronics Line 3000.
Organisers of the Transport Security Expo 2010 have announced a change of venue. The show will take place at the prestigious Olympia Exhibition Centre in London from this year. This move comes two years ahead of the capital playing host to the 2012 Olympic Games and at a time when organisers are shifting into top gear to ensure the safety and security of the Games.
For those interested in security in gaming markets, G2E Asia 2010 will be the placed to be. The show will equip attendees with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive business environment.
Lastly, in Singapore CEM Systems security management system has been chosen to secure access to Nucles Connect’s Central offices. The contract was awarded to Tyco Singapore, who installed the CEM AC2000 Lite systems.

At the top of the pile IMS Research reveals that the global transition to IP video surveillance is on the up with a predictions os a 3% increase in as it the global video surveillance market. In a bid to offer their partners an opportunity to showcase their products Vivotek is to host its first IP video Solutions Awards.
To end our news offering we have two very charitable news updates: Xtralis has recently announced that it will be donating its ADPRO remote video surveillance and perimeter protections solution to the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) to support the service in its mission to provide free marine rescue. Lastly, for the first time at ISC West security professional will be taking part in a 5K charity run to help sponsor 500 children in need.
